The Battle With a New Enemy and Event Chapter 1

I snapped out of my thoughts when I saw Karin fall to ground.

--------Toshiro's POV--------

That is what happened two hours ago. Hichigo came at me with his Zanpakuto. Just before his sword touched me, Karin jumped in between us. Hichigo's Zanpakuto missed me, but it hit Karin in her shoulder.

When Hichigo pulled his sword out of her shoulder, he smirked as he said something to me.

--Flashback--

Right before Hichigo left, he said something to me. "Don't ever get between me and Karin, Captain Hitsugaya. Next time, she won't be the only one who gets hurt." With that, he left.

--Flashback End--

'What does he mean by 'she won't be the only one who gets hurt?' I thought. I was in my Captain's Quarters in the Sereitei.

When Rangiku found me, Karin, and Ichigo; she took Ichigo to Kisuke's, Karin to Orihime, and me to the Soul Society.

--Flashback--

"What are you doing, Matsumoto! I need to be by Karin's side! She needs me!" I kept screaming at my lieutenant.

She tried to get me away from Karin, so she could carry her to Orihime. She tried picking me up and pushing me, but nothing worked. I would not move from Karin's side.

In defeat, she called others to help her get me away from Karin.

In the end, it took Renji, Shuhei, Byakuya, Gin, Sajin, Rangiku, Isshin, and Chad to get me away from Karin.

--Flashback End--

Now I am not allowed to leave the Soul Society unless the Head Captain says that it is OK.

As I sit in my office, my mind wanders off to think about Karin. The last time I saw Karin, she was cut along the shoulder. I am pretty sure that she is still alive, but I am worried about my daughter. I think that he loss of blood might have caused something to happen to her.

As I think about my baby girl, I drift off to sleep.

Dream

I am sitting at my office desk in the Soul Society. I am about to call the Kurosaki residence when I get a call.

"Hello," I say.

On the other end of the line is Ichigo. "Toshiro, come to the hospital right away. It's about Karin."

I close my phone and rush to the hospital in the world of the living.

When I get there, everyone is in the waiting room, starring at the ground.

"What is wrong, everyone?" I ask.

Yuzu stands up and walks over to me. "Shiro...Karin is dead."

What I am told shocks me. "N-no, no, no! She is not dead!" I scream as I run to her room.

"Karin!" I scream when I open the door.

Her body is covered in a white sheet.

I run to her and feel her skin. Ice cold.

Dream

I wake up from my nightmare with a scream.
