Chapter 1

Ashley look at herself in the mirror and combing her long blonde hair, ready to start her day. Ashley smile, remembering her promises that she made 8 years ago.

That's true, Ashley changed her looks which used to be messy.

In the past, Ashley didn't care about her looks because she knew that, that man will never aware of her presence. But now, she's different.

Ashley treat her face and body really well, but she keep her real appearance. Ashley didn't use heavy makeup like many other girls. For her, natural makeup is the best.

Ashley changed her lazy habit too. She tried to study really well so when she was older, there won't be a person who will insult her.

Ashley changed her everything, just because one thing. Ethan. Since the beginning, just Ethan who had a big impact to her life.

Ashley shook her head, try to forget about what she thinks right now.

From now on, Ashley want to be independent. She didn't want to attach to her parents until she died. Ashley want to be successful with her own way.

And right now, Ashley leave her apartment and start to looking for a job. What she is grateful for is the education she achieved was quite high so it can help her to get job more easily.

Ashley once again check at her appearance and put in all things that she needs to her bag.

Ashley put on her black heels and walk to the door.

"I'm ready." Ashley cheer herself.

To be honest, Ashley really wants to work at the Syzygy Coorp., the biggest company that she knew.  She know that it's really hard to become one of the employee there. But, it's not wrong to try, right?

Ashley walked into the Syzygy Coorp. For about 15 minute walking, Ashley arrived at that building, 'Syzygy' written at the top of the building.

'Trust me, Ash. You can do it.' Ashley cheer herself up once again and after that, she's entering the building.

Ashley walked into the information table. She can see two women were busy with their own job.

Ashley wait for a while, and then one of that woman saw her and smile.

"Good morning, Mam. Can I help you?"

"Yes. Actually, I really want to work in this company. I just want to ask if there is job opening for me? Working in here is my dream."

That woman, who still look like 30 years old woman, chuckled.

"We will help you, and I just want to ask if you bring certificate about your life and education history?" Ashley smile. Luck is on her side right now. She brought it.

"Yes, I bring that certificate." Ashley put the certificate in the table and give it to the woman.

"Okay, Mam. We will tell you soon and when will you're going to do the interview. Can you please fill this form? So we can contact you."

"Yes, sure." Ashley fill that form.

"Okay, Mam. Can I help you again?"

"No. Thank you very much." Ashley showed her teeth, smile at that woman.

"Your welcome, Mam. Hope your day will be great."

"You too." Ashley come out from Syzygy Coorp and smile.

Ashley take her smartphone from her bag and called her best friend, Callista.

Ashley wait for a moment, and after that, her friend picked it up.

"Hey, Cal. Are you busy right now?"

"Hey, Ash. Nope, I'm not busy right now. What's wrong?"

"No, everything's alright. I just want to ask you if you can hangout with me right now. I really want to meet you."

"Okay, Ash. Let's hangout together. Where are you?" Ashley told her best friend where she is and end the call.

Luckily, Callista was near Syzygy Coorp., so she will be arrive for about 5 minutes.

Ashley play her favorite game on her smartphone and after that hearing car horn.

There she is. Ashley smile and wave her hand, go inside her best friend car.

"Hey, Cal. Long time no see." Ashley hugged Callista.

"Yeah. Let's spend time until night. Where should we go now?" Callista asked.

"How about... Shopping?"

"Agree." Without thinking twice, Callista agreeing her best friend's idea.

Ashley and Callista spend their time together, shopping, and after went around the mall, Ashley asked Callista to sit because her feet is really hurt right now.

"So, new man, Ash?" Callista asked Ashley, which she thinks is quiet a sensitive talk.

"No, Cal. I really didn't interested to build a relationship with any man right now."

"Are you sure? You're 24. Do you really want to be 'single' until you're die?" What Callista said doesn't make sense. Because Callista is just like her, single too.

"Don't you realize, Cal? We're same here." Ashley said sarcastically, and they laughed.

"How..." Suddenly, Callista smartphone is ringing.

"Wait. I think I need to answer this, Ash."

"Okay."

Ashley whirl her straw, already bored waiting for her best friend.

After a while, Callista put her smartphone into the bag and smile widely, making Ashley curious.

"Ashley, I have good news!!"

"And what's that?"

"My brother is coming. And right now, he is on his way to here."

Callista had a brother, that is older than her 6 years old. Ashley never met Callista's brother and today will be their first meet.

Ashley is a little bit curious about Callista's big brother appearance. Would it be as beautiful as Callista?

Callista realize that Ashley was thinking about something, didn't listen what she says.

"I'm sure that you will be fascinated my brother after you see him in person." Callista winking her eye, teased her bestfriend.

"You make me curious." Ashley said and chuckled.

Ashley and Callista talked many things, until they heard a man's voice.

"Clement!!" Callista stood from her chair and run toward her big brother.

Ashley turned her head and smile awkwardly to Callista's big brother. That's right, she fascinated him for a while.

What Ashley think right now, Callista's brother isn't as handsome as Ethan. Ashley tried to forget about Ethan and heard her best friend voice.

"Oh. Sorry. You two need to be acquainted. So, this is my big brother, Clement. And this is Ashley, my best friend."

"Clement." Clement shake Ashley's hand.

"Ashley." Ashley smile back at him.

They spend time together, until Clement need to leave because there is a job that he need to finished.

And after Clement left, Callista squealed, make Ashley a little bit startled.

"Ashley!!"

"What?" What's happening?

"Oh, God. I'm sure that my brother is interested at you. He just kept looking at you." Callista screamed, and Ashley just shooked her head, seeing Callista's childish side.
