As the whole school began to arrive, the buzzing of voices got louder. Yang Hui looked around for Taehyung. It seemed that everyone in her class was present but him.

"Do you know where Taehyung is?" she asked her classmates

"Do you know where Taehyung is?" she asked her classmates.

None of them had a clue. Yang Hui was getting worried. Had all the work piled up on V and made him sick? Or did he decide to borrow some hot pepper sauce from Suga and got killed and had his body hidden in the woods?

She was getting carried away. Still, his absence ate into her like acid. Yang Hui crossed her arms. She had been looking forward to seeing Taehyung again. If he was out sick, she was tempted to cut class and visit him in the dorm. It was a crazy thought, but no crazier than the time she had skipped class to go for an Owl City concert. It wouldn't be her first rodeo.

Nadiya was three classes to the right of Yang Hui. She had sat down the moment she recognised two of her classmates coming, and now she regretted it, because Jimin was pretty far back.

She looked to where Yang Hui was, and saw that her friend seemed down. She wondered why.

Then she noticed that Taehyung wasn't with the class.

Using her bag as cover, Nadiya texted Yang Hui through their group chat.

What's wrong, Yang Hui? Is Taehyung not in school today?

She saw Yang Hui look at her phone, then at her, and then down again.

I don't know. I think he could be sick.

Tricia, whose class was in the row behind them, joined in the conversation.

No way! He seemed fine yesterday, didn't he?

Don't be sad, Yang Hui! If he's sick, we can go visit him after school.

Yeah, at least you have a reason to visit him. Please cheer up.

Thanks, guys. You're right. I just hope nothing bad happened to him.

At the moment, a teacher went up to the stage and spoke into the microphone.

The girls looked up as soon as they heard his voice; they would have recognised it anywhere.

"Good morning, school," Yoongi addressed the students. "We're already into the second week, and I hope everyone's had time to settle in and make some friends. The weather forecast says it will be clear all day, so no excuses for those who are taking PE, OK?"

"Yes, Mr Min!" the student who had been standing behind Yoongi said brightly.
