It was English time, and Nadiya was more than awake for it.

"We'll be tackling synonyms today," declared Namjoon. "You'll partner up with the one next to you and write down as many words as you can think of that have a similar meaning to the words I give you."

"So it's a competition?" asked one of Nadiya's classmates.

"That depends. As you're aware, our class has failed to arrive at a formal decision about what to do for this year's fundraiser - which will be this weekend, mind you. As your form teacher, such a crisis can't be accepted."

"I am," he confirmed. "Do you not want me to be?"

He looked so cute, Nadiya wished she could take a photo of him.

"Not at all, Mr Kim," she denied happily. "On the contrary, I'm really glad you're our form teacher!"

Looking surprised and a bit embarrassed, Namjoon huffed out a laugh.

"Thank you," he said graciously. "So... as I was saying, the team with top marks gets to decide what our class will do for the fundraiser."

His proclamation stirred the class. Everyone was talking excitedly, and Jimin gave Nadiya a meaningful look.

"I'm not set on the fundraiser, but it wouldn't hurt to be the top team," he said. "What do you say? Shall we try to win?"

"Yes we should," returned Nadiya,  and they both grinned in mutual understanding.

Sheets were handed out for the class to write on. Namjoon proceeded to write the first word. Nadiya and Jimin's eyes were glued on the board, pens hovering over paper, ready to get to work.

Unfortunately, Namjoon's chalk chose that second to snap in two.

"Aish!" exclaimed Jimin. He drew back in his chair, laughing. "Mr Kim, that's the fourth one you've broken so far!"

"Oh bother. Why do things keep breaking on me?" sighed Namjoon, squeezing his eyes shut with an embarrassed smile. "Sorry you had to see that, class."
