It was a tremendous relief when History ended and Hoseok came to take over for Korean.
Tricia had never been happier to see him.
"Morning, Mr Jung!" she greeted. "How are you today?"
Hoseok revealed a mirthless smile and put both hands on his desk.
"Well, I would be fine if someone didn't drop a rubber snake in class."
"What? For real?"
Jungkook was surprised too.
"Boy, the students must have freaked," he remarked.
Privately, Tricia thought Hoseok must have been more spooked. She recalled that Nadiya's first lesson was Korean. So it had happened during her lesson. She could imagine what Hoseok's reaction had been like, and she hoped she wasn't smiling too widely at the moment.
"Yeah," Hoseok was saying. "It was a kid from the Drama Club."
"How did Jimin react?" Tricia couldn't help but ask.
"Oh, do you know him? He was freaked too. Almost sent the table behind him flying."
"Who's Jimin?" asked Jungkook, puzzled, saving Tricia from bursting into giggles.
Hoseok stared at Jungkook in shock.
"You don't know Park Jimin? He's literally your next-door neighbour."
Comprehension entered Jungkook's eyes.
"Oh, that Jimin!" he said. Come to think of it, Tricia found it strange that the maknaes didn't know each other when they were living side by side. "I'm not really acquainted with him. He only moved into the dorm last week."
That would explain it. And since Taehyung was in his first year, he would only have moved into the dorms the week before as well. Now it all made sense.
Tricia wished she had been there when Hoseok discovered the snake. If only Nadiya had gotten it on her phone.
When the lesson officially began, Hoseok made a surprise announcement - today's class would be a scavenger hunt. Since they were seniors, Hoseok figured they'd be stressed about the final exams and he wanted to give them something fun to do once in a while.
"You can choose to work in twos or threes. Time limit is forty-five minutes. You're not allowed to leave the campus, and this will be counted towards your grades, so do take it seriously."
Tricia immediately knew who she wanted to pair up with.
"Wanna team up?" she asked Jungkook.
He looked a little taken aback. None of the girls had invited him before.
"Sure," he said with a big smile.
The girls who saw the scene whispered to each other, out of their earshot.
