On Edge

(Mark's POV)

What Ace said was still gnawing away at me. I was scared he was gonna do something to me... What if he actually did while Jack wasn't looking? Now I was really on edge... I'm scared of Ace as it is. This just made it 10x worse.

But, I went home anyways. Jack got picked up for a doctor's appointment or something at the bus stop, so I was alone walking home. Surprisingly, though, nothing happened. But something was gonna happen the next day...

The next day...

Jack and I were walking to the bus stop, but I was still nervous. But, I just listened to him ramble... Then he stopped.

"Sorry about leavin' ya tuh' walk alone yesterday," he apologized. "I had NO idea that I'd get picked up."
"Don't apologize," I sighed. "I was just really nervous."
"Understand that. But, let's just get through this. It's Friday, after all."
"Yeah..."
"...What's wrong?"
"What he said is really getting to me... What if he does do something?"
"Well, then keep this on ya," he said, giving me a tracker. "I had a feelin' too. But, I had an idea of what to do. And, keep this on yer heart."

He placed a sticky button on where my heart is supposed to be.

"It'll tell me tha' amount 'a stress yer in, whether it's not much, neutral, or somethin's REALLY wrong. Okay?"
"Okay..."

Once at school, he went to go talk with Felix for a minute. I suddenly felt my throat get dry, so I went to find a water fountain. I turned the corner, only to be met by Ace. Before I could scream, he put a hand over my mouth.

"Shhh," he shushed. "Can't have Jack ruining my plans, now can I?"

Suddenly, everything went black...

(Jack's POV)

I haven't seen Mark since this morning, and it was art class now. Did he get sick 'er somethin'? Surely, he would've told me had that happened. So, I decided to ask Felix and Marzia.

"Fe," I began. "You seen Mark?"
"Jack, he hasn't been here all day," Felix replied, scaring me. If Felix hasn't seen him, no one has. "Marzia hasn't seen him either. She told me no one really has, since she asked around for you."
"What do ya mean, he hasn't been here?! He was with me just this mornin'!"
"Well, the last time I saw him was when he went behind the east building. Then, he never came back."

My blood chilled. That meant somethin' happened. I quickly checked my phone. I said that he was unconscious and had been ultimately nervous about six hours ago.

"Oh no," I gasped. "I've gotta go!"
"What's going on with him, Jack?!"
"I gave him this thing this mornin' that checks his nervousness levels and bodily functions as well. It says he's unconscious and was nervous several hours ago!"
"I'm coming with!"
"Felix-"
"Jack, Mark's my best friend! I'm not leaving him!"

I let him come, but had tuh' get through tha' office first. They finally let us go after about ten minutes of arguin'. Then, Felix and I got in his car and sped off.

(Mark's POV)

I began to wake up, feeling dizzy. I looked around, only to notice I was no longer in school or at home... I was in complete darkness, except with a ray of light on me.
I couldn't move much, since my arms were suspended above me. I also noticed my jeans were gone and I was only in my pastel pink sweater and boxers. I had no idea what the fucking hell was going on.

"Oh, you're finally awake," I heard Ace say.

My blood froze. He had me... of all people...

"Ace?"
"That's right. And you're mine and mine alone now, Mark..."
"Ace, please don't do this... Please."
"Don't beg, Mark. That'll only make me wanna do worse to you."
"Why are you doing this?!"
"I've wanted you back, but you've left me no choice. You were gonna be mine sooner or later. It was only a matter of time until you were ONLY mine... Now that Jack's out of the picture, I can do what I want."
"Ace, are you insane?! This is kidnapping!"
"I know. I'm not stupid... Mark, you never would've come willingly, so this was my last choice. But, now I have you all to myself..."

Ace began to advance towards me. I knew now that I was completely screwed if Jack didn't find me now...
