Chapter One: Shannon
"This is just great, how can this day get any worse. It can't possibly get any worse. Shannon are you there?"
"Yes, yes I'm here. So how did this happen?"
"I don't know, probably some genetic thing, but I've never heard of it in my family. God, this sucks. Why me Shannon, why of all people do I have to have such a burden?"
"Joanna, this isn't a burden because there is always a purpose. And besides, you said it can't do any harm for a while right?"
"Yeah I guess your right, well I got to go do some stupid homework. I can't believe they would give it to us saying that the final exams and stuff are all done."
"I know right! It is so annoying!"
"Yeah, well talk to you later."
The phone clicks. Joanna my best friend has found some life changing news. And I don't know what to feel or do or anything. I am probably in as much shock as she is. Why is this so dramatic you might be thinking? Because she has tumors in both of her eyes. Yeah it really does suck, and I am scared and worried and hopeful for my friend. I just don't want her to get hurt.
