"Kaede, where's Rin?" Kagome asked the old priestess.

"She's back at the hut, Sesshomaru is with her," Kaede replied.

"I thought Sesshy doesn't want to be near humans," Kagome murmured, facing InuYasha who was looking a bit annoyed. "What's wrong, InuYasha?"

"Sesshy?" he repeated. Kagome laughed, "Well, Sesshomaru is kind of a mouth-full," Kagome replied.

"Sesshomaru stays with Rin once in a while to check on her," Kaede explained.

"Well, well, well," Miroku started. "It seemed that Sesshomaru is a lot like his father too - has a bit fondness for humans."

Kuniome yawned still holding Kagome's hand. "Kaede, you better take Kuniome back to your hut to get some rest," Kagome said. "InuYasha and I still have lots to do."

"Aye, child," Kaede replied and got Kuniome from Kagome.

"And make sure that Sesshomaru doesn't harm her," InuYasha added.

"Don't fret, InuYasha," Kaede told him. "Lord Sesshomaru hasn't harmed a single human in the village since he'd been here." She then started walking back to the little fox demon.

Shippo sighed. "Here we go again," he said. Shippo transformed back into the pink floating sphere. Kaede got on him and they floated back to Kaede's hut.

When the old priestess was nowhere in sight, Sango asked. "So what are you two planning to do?"

"Just something," Kagome replied refusing to give a specific answer.

"Well, let's get going, Kagome," InuYasha said. Kagome nodded and faced back to Sango and Miroku.

"We'll see you two later," Kagome mumbled, climbing unto InuYasha's back. Without another word, InuYasha started running.

"What do you suppose they're planning to do?" Miroku asked Sango the moment InuYasha and Kagome were far enough to hear them.

"Beats me," Sango replied. "Come on, let's get back inside, it's getting dark."

. . . . .

"Kagome, do you miss your family?" InuYasha asked. They we're under the sacred tree - to where they first met each other. They sat down next to one another.

"Of course I miss them, InuYasha," Kagome replied. "Mom wanted me to be happy so she understood why I needed to return here."

"Thank God the well worked," InuYasha mumbled.

Kagome rested her head against InuYasha's chest. "Yeah, or I wouldn't be here with you." She leaned closer to InuYasha and kissed him.

"But there's no way for you to go back to your own time," InuYasha said when their lips parted.

"True," Kagome agreed. "I chose to be with you, InuYasha. That's why I decided to come back when I had the chance."

"I'm sorry you had to choose between me and your family," InuYasha apologized.

"Don't be sorry," Kagome told him. She rested her head against InuYasha's chest again and he wrapped his arms around her. They stayed like that until midnight. InuYasha wanted to ask Kagome if she wanted to return back to the village to get some sleep. But when he found her already sleeping, he just let her be and slept together under the tree.

. . . . .

The next day, InuYasha woke with Kagome still sleeping. He rubbed her cheek and Kagome's eyes fluttered open. "Good morning, InuYasha," she yawned. "Good morning," InuYasha replied. "Hey, are you ready to go back to the village?"
