InuYasha X Kagome : Fan Fiction

Chapter Three

The next morning, Kagome woke up earlier than InuYasha to get some ingredients from the village. She brought her arrows with her just in case a demon shows up. 

She was about to return to the hut when she ran into Sango.

"Hey, Sango, why are you in such a hurry?" Kagome asked her.

Sango didn't respond, instead she grabbed Kagome by the wrist and started dragging her somewhere. When they got to their destination, Kagome was shocked. 

"Is that?" Kagome mumbled, pointing towards the demon who was coming towards the village.

"Naraku," Sango finished.

"That couldn't be Naraku," Kagome protested.

The demon came closer and closer. It has a similar body of Naraku - tentacles and all. Kagome draw out her bow and arrow.

"Kagome," InuYasha called from behind, startling Kagome.

"InuYasha!" Kagome scolded. "You scared me to death. Why couldn't you just say my name, not blurt it out."

"We've got a much bigger problem over here," Sango interrupted. "Stop fighting, you two, and focus."

"Right," Kagome muttered and looked away from InuYasha.

"I see we haven't destroyed Naraku yet," Sango said.

"That's not Naraku," InuYasha told her. "The scent is different. But whoever it is, we must slay it."

"I'm sensing a powerful demonic aura," Kagome added.

InuYasha growled and charged towards the demon, Tetsusaiga in hand. 

"InuYasha," the demon said with a female voice.

"A woman?" InuYasha mumbled to himself.

"Die," the demon exclaimed letting out poisonous gas. InuYasha covered his nose with one of his arm and ran back to where Kagome and Sango were.

"It's a woman," InuYasha told them. "Damn it, where's Miroku? We could use some of his sutras."

"InuYasha are you alright?" Kagome asked.

"I'm fine," he replied. "But the demon is after me."

"You?" Kagome repeated. "Why would she be after you?"

"I don't know," InuYasha said.

"It's coming closer," Sango remarked. What happened after a few seconds shocked all of them.

"She's disappeared," Kagome gasped.

"No, she's still here," InuYasha protested. "I can still smell her scent, it's much stronger now."

"I am here, InuYasha," a female voice said.

InuYasha growled. "Who are you and what do you want?"

"I am Hotaru, the demon of darkness," the voice replied. "I have come for revenge."

"What did we ever do to you?" Kagome asked, sounding rather childish.

"You took away who I love," the demon replied. "Naraku."

Kagome, InuYasha, and Sango fell silent.

"And in return, I'll take away someone you love," the demon added.

"What are you talking about, wench?" InuYasha exclaimed.

"InuYasha, Kagome," InuYasha heard Shippo call. He turned around and saw the fox demon very worried.

"What is it, Shippo?" Kagome asked, suddenly tense.

"Kuniome disappeared," Shippo replied. InuYasha's heart sunk when he heard what Shippo had to say.

"Where's my daughter?!" InuYasha bursted. And the demon, Hotaru, just responded by laughing evilly.

Kagome ran towards InuYasha and gripped his arm. "We need to find Kuniome."

"I know," InuYasha replied looking away.

"Your daughter is beautiful, InuYasha," Hotaru remarked. "It's a shame she won't be alive for long."

InuYasha growled angrily, "Let our daughter go."

"All in good time, InuYasha," Hotaru replied. "If you want your daughter back, go to my castle near the border between this world and the afterlife. And we shall settle this by force."

"The border between this world and the afterlife," Kagome repeated. "She meant where your father's remains are located," she told InuYasha.

"Be there, or say farewell to your beloved daughter," Hotaru warned. "And keep in mind that I hate waiting."

"Why don't we just settle this here," InuYasha exclaimed. "Show yourself."

"The demonic aura is disappearing, InuYasha," Kagome said. "Hotaru left."

InuYasha snarled, his eyes were becoming red and marks started appearing on his cheeks.
Kagome noticed what was happening, and she gripped his arm as hard as she could. "InuYasha, stop."

InuYasha refused to calm down. His eyes turned blood red and the markings on his cheeks became very visible. InuYasha let his demon side take over his body.

InuYasha unclasped Kagome's hand from his arm. "I have to find our daughter," he growled before running off to follow Hotaru's scent.
