"She's the girl here in the counter before you."
Right after hearing that, the tall 19 year old quickly said to the lady, "Okay, thank you, hold on." and immediately turned around, noticing that the number of people inside the office grew abruptly since he stood in front the counter, longer than expected and necessary.
He walked briskly, not really running, since he did not want to make a scene, considering that people were already looking at him because out of all the customers, he was the longest to take in the counter.
Finally reaching the door and exiting, he started running, trying to look for the same short girl who was quite surprised and shocked upon seeing him but smiled afterwards.
As he looked around, he noticed that the number of people outside the office grew as well, looking at his watch, it was almost an hour since the office opened.
Sighing, knowing that finding for the girl would be harder now, he still looked around, even going around fully the pillars.
Almost giving up, he heard a car screech, he saw the girl almost getting hit by it.
The girl smiled apologetically at the driver of the car and went beside the driver's window and talked to him, most probably saying sorry. Afterwards, the car drove off and a cab, most probably why the girl went to the street to hail, went to the side of the road and the girl followed.
Finn ran to the cab and arriving the same time as the girl did.
The girl took a quick glance at Finn and opened the cab door, Finn followed behind her, with just a very little distance between them. The girl began talking to the driver, "Hello, can you please bring me to a hotel near the airport?" First thing he noticed, the girl has a British accent. Making Finn more confused as to why or how can someone be from the UK interfere or know about his father.
The driver nodded and the girl closed the door then went to the back of the car to open the trunk.
Finn wasn't really thinking straight this time, when the girl was putting in her suitcase in the trunk, he slowly opened the door of the back seat and quietly and quickly went inside. The driver glanced at him and thought that maybe he was a companion of the girl since he was behind her.
The girl closed the trunk and went to the door of back seat and opened it. She immediately slid in and the cab started moving.
After about 5 seconds, when she turned her head to the left, obviously, when she saw the guy, she had a very confused look on her face.
"Excuse me, but this is my cab." The girl smiled sarcastically.
The driver adjusted the rear view mirror and looked at it, looking at the two teenagers at the back seat, "Wait, you two aren't together?"
Both of them looked at each other and slowly shook their heads no.
"Wait," Finn said to the driver. The driver returned his focus on the road and shook his head in disbelief.
"Miss, I have to talk to you. Please." Finn said, pleadingly.
The girl slightly turned pale at his request.
Feeling as if there was a lump in her throat, she replied, "What... is there to talk about? I don't even know who you are."
"Oh, I think you know what I am talking about." Finn said with his left brow raised and with now a blank expression on his face.
The driver adjusted his rear view mirror and looked at the teenagers behind him. "Hey, hey, hey. Sir, what are you doing?", he asked.
"I just uh - - asking her something.", Finn replied.
"Everything good, ma'am?"
The girl looked at the driver and replied, "Yes, please continue driving." She returned her gaze on Finn, "Okay, talk." and crossed her arms.
Finn ran his hand through his hair and looked at the girl, "My dad... he uh... got into a plane crash, you may have known that." Finn straightened his position, looking uncomfortable still. "And I just... uh... I'm sorry, miss, but who are you for you to sign up as the contact person?" The girl turned pale and they both felt the car stopped. When they looked outside, they saw a hotel.
"Here we are, ma'am."
"Thank you so much." The girl replied and quickly took her wallet out and gave the driver the payment. After that, both her and the driver went out to the trunk to get her things. Finn followed after. They loaded the luggages in the trolley and the girl thanked the driver again before entering the hotel. Finn quickly got out of the cab and followed the girl. The girl went directly to the front desk. Just like outside the cab earlier, he stayed some distance away from the girl and began tapping his foot, being impatient.
"Hello, I would like to have a room."
"We got those." The lady smiled and asked, "Single?", and looked at Finn who was looking at them as well, "or double?" The lady continued with a smirk.
"Single." The girl replied immediately. The lady's cheeks blushed and looked at the girl and Finn. "Aww, young love."
The girl became confused and looked at Finn and raised her brows. She returned her attention again to the girl in front of her. "Bloody hell, we aren't together." The girl replied and laughed sarcastically.
"Okay, now I'm confused." The lady furrowed her brows, "Lovers' quarrel?" The girl and Finn widened their eyes at her question. "Uh, we are just... acquaintances." The lady slowly nodded, looking not convinced.
"Okayyy, well, uh, ma'am, may I have a valid ID, please?" The girl looked inside her bag and picked up her passport. Finn looked at her hand as she gave it to the lady. It was confirmed, she was from the UK.
The lady opened her passport and looked at the girl, "Miss Millie, I will look for a room for you. Wait a minute." The lady smiled at the girl and began typing in her computer.
Finn went closer to Millie and began talking to her, almost in a whisper, "Okay, Millie, who are you?" He said and put his hands on his hips. Millie looked at him and just when she was about to speak when she opened her mouth, the lady interrupted them.
"Miss Millie, I have found a room for you. May I also know how long will you be staying?", the lady asked.
Millie blinked her eyes repeatedly and replied stuttering, "Uh.. I... uh... don't know yet." The lady began typing onher computer again.
"Oh, okay. Just inform the front desk if you have decided or just really, call us if you need anything." The lady smiled and picked up a card and scanned it.
"The room is $60 per night, and you have to give a security deposit of $30. I will charge you one night since you haven't decided yet, would that be okay?" Millie nodded slowly and got her wallet out of her bag again and picked out a card and gave it to the lady. The lady swiped the card and let Millie sign.
The lady laid down some things on the counter, "Miss Millie, here is your passport, your credit card, your receipt, and key card.", and smiled. "We will send your belongings to your room and we hope you enjoy your stay!"
"Thank you so much." Millie smiled at her and got the things.
Millie turned to Finn who was standing beside her the whole time, "Let's just talk in my room."
