The body lay lop sided against the wet sand, Derek leaning over the body. The look of anticipation in his eyes, he always liked murder mysteries. My phone vibrated in my pocket; another message from my mother, she worries to much.

"Wow" gasped Derek, pulling something shiny from the chest of the body. "What have you got there?" I asked, "It's a spear head! Remarkable!"

"Why would there be a spear head?"

"I have no idea! That's why it's remarkable!".

Rolling my eyes I walked back towards the car, opening the door I had a glimpse at the ocean. I remember as a kid going to the beach with my family.

The car smelt like pine thanks to the new air freshener. Derek soon followed with the spear head in hand. "well the was different" "how?" "well turns out his name was Mark May" "age?" oh yes, 19" "alrighty then!" I sighed.

He gave the spear head to me so he could drive, I examined it, "it looks like he was killed not that long ago, in the last 24 hours or so" confused, I placed it back into the bag. "Um...Where are we going?" I asked, "To have a look around Redding St" he replied "Apparently eyewitness reports are of a middle aged man running down Redding St with a long pole!" He continued.

This investigation is confusing, I thought to myself. As he said 10 minutes later we saw a middle aged man with a long pole, he seemed to be wearing track suit pants and a large T-shirt.

"Excuse me sir" Derek said pulling up next to the man. "yes?" he replied in a croaky voice, "I'm sorry but we have to take you in for questioning" Derek stated as he got out of the car.

The man reluctantly let Derek place the hand cuffs on him, got into the car and stayed very quiet, "what's your name please?" I asked, the man replied with "Willis Tant". "Really? You don't look like a Willis" "you look like a Steve or a John". Willis smiled sarcastically at Derek.

We got to the police station and took Willis into the interrogation room. We asked if he knew a Mark May. He said that Mark was his old friend and what had happened to him. We said that he had been murdered and that he was a now a suspect.

Willis looked shocked but not as much as he should of. Derek then placed the spear head on the table and gestured towards willis's pole. Willis gave it to Derek, he placed the spear head on the end of the pole. "It's a perfect fit..." he said cautiously.
