I came
not because I wanted to
but because
you wanted me to comeI didn't want to see you
but you wanted me to see you
so here I amI got flowers
I can't scent
but you sure do enjoy
these insignificant delicacies
so I've bought a handful
of fleeting positionsI know you well
but you like being a mystery
so here I am
overflowing with ignoranceI love you
but you're just a brat
and you like to be spoiled
and you like to be dissatisfied
so here I am watering
these petals
until they
drown and wilt themselves
into murky red waterYou don't really know me
so you like to dress me up
in different attires
with different flourishes
I'll erase my identity
if it helps you go alongWhatever makes you sleep at night
whatever keeps you tucked in tight
step on me and take your flight
pull my heart and steal my light
I'll be alrightBecause I could leave you
as much as you could leave me
because I no longer
have a choice
of my ownI feel your pain
be mine
and you feel nothing
from my side
so might as well
play it nice
instead of getting damaged
twiceI came
not because I wanted to
but because you wanted me
to come
