"So, you called that a ride?"

"Yeh."

"Wow. We were going very slow."

"Aey, you gotta watch out for those tricky, reckless, and dumb ass drivers."

"On the sidewalk?" I tilted my head, pouting my lips. "Hm, I don't think so."

Roger didn't say a thing. He looked down at his lunch tray, grabbed a fry, glazed at it then tossed it into his mouth. That didn't bother me. What did was his smug expression and the way he chewed on the fry. Like it was a piece of gum or something in that texture. I groaned in disgust, throwing a fry in his direction. He dodged it, of course and laughed heartily.

"Damn, Jenni. You really know how to get rid of cafeteria food." I faked smiled and rolled my eyes. I focused on my own food and started poking at my salad-the only thing I ate when it came to the school menu. "You not tripping about that ride, tho, right?" I still kept my eyes downward. I shrugged one shoulder.

That made him laugh mockingly and sit back in his chair. "J, you know my ass don't have a car."

"Funny," I muttered. "With all those cars in your driveway, I thought one was yours."

He smacked, shook his head. "Naw, they don't even work–the ones in the front, I mean. The other two belong to my parents." I rose my head to look at him.

"Do you have your driving license?" I asked. I realized I didn't know this about Roger or really nothing about the guy. I mean, yeah. We have been some time together since Kia departed from me.

I still don't know why you keep calling it that. She practically befriended you.

Us! I snapped. She practically befriended us.

*mock-mournfully* 'Sad how you think there's two of you.

I was taken back by my own thought that I even cocked my head sniffly, my neck tensing up. Did I really think there were two of me? Haha, that's ridiculous...or is it?

"Is what?"

I blinked dumbfoundingly and timidly. That voice of question snapped me back into reality. Roger was blinking quizzically at me, his hand mid-air from putting another fry into his mouth. One of his trimmed eyebrows were arose as well. I was thinking out loud again...damn it.

"Um..." I started, awkwardly.

"Oh, my God!" A familiar voice squealed, excitedly. I held my breath to hold back a relief sigh that wanted to escape but I held it in to not seem like I was stuck in a odd situation and glad to get out of it. Saved by the bell. I plastered a smile across my face before sniffly craning my head to look at the voice.

Aimee was strolling toward the table Roger and I was sitting at, carrying an tray. Her eyes were fixed with excitement, joy and any other adjectives that went with that list. Reaching the table, she placed down her tray, her eyes never leaving me and gestured me to stand up.

Oh, boy.

I groaned, not wanting to obey her. "Oh, Am," I pouted. "What's this about?" She didn't answer. It's like she didn't hear me. She was clearly ignoring me. She continued to flap her wrist. Gosh, I didn't want to stand up. I was dead hungry since I didn't have my breakfast this morning...which I could've had...but nooo. I felt my stomach squeezing and not in a good way. It made me feel qwezzy but I kept it to myself.
