Holding On

I don't see the importance,

It's not so great to me.

A daring challenge, a test of skill,

That's all it seems to be.

Is it really worth all this hate?

This stress, this sorrow, this fear?

Just to be separated,

From those that I hold dear.

What is so good about it,

To hold onto the last thread?

Humans don't really know,

What happens when you're dead.

I, for one, know where I'll be,

After death, I'll be with my king.

In heaven where He rules forever,

My father, leader, and bearer of sin.

So this, really, is all I ask,

So I can know the truth.

Where, on Earth, is the reason,

To hold on or to lose.
