Staring into Talon's eyes, I stare into the eyes of my own. His eyes are, almost, exact replicas of mine. The only detail that makes his better is his has a jade sun burst leading to all the other colors. His is also void of any shade of pink.
"Yo- our eyes... How-" I stop rambling and wait for his response to the incoherent words I just sputtered.
He looks down while raking a Han through his hair. He doesn't look back to me when he replies. "I don't know." Silence falls on the room as we both sit and collect our disheveled thoughts.
'How can this be possible?' I think to myself. I know we are not related. My mom and dad are both only child's. I have no cousins.
This is not real.
"I don't know how this is possible." Talon mutters.
"Does your parents have any siblings?" I ask. I figure that maybe I do have relative and my parents found it necessary to hide them from me. I don't see why they would though my grandparents are both very sweet. Any descendants from them had to have picked up their happiness and cheer, that is, if they even exist.
"No."
"Well then I don't know either." The bell rang signaling the end of lunch. I got up to leave before turning to Talon, "Aren't you coming?"
He looks up and shakes his head, "No, free period."
I frown, "Oh, okay. I guess I'll see you later."
He nods and stares back at the table looking deep in thought. I don't say anything else, he doesn't either. So, I leave.
While in the classroom, that I have childishly decided to nickname The Corner since it's abandoned and away from everyone, I had time to look over my schedule. And I mean really look over it. I know where I'm going when I step out of The Corner.
Period 5: Mrs. Clay- Study Hall
There are two floors of the school. The first floor is rooms 1-30 and holds the auditorium, gym, and the main office. The second floor holds rooms 31-100, the cafeteria, and, inconveniently, the nurses office.
Remembering that, I walk down the stairs towards room 19, turning a corner when I get beside the gym. I glance at the surrounding classroom numbers to make sure I'm going in the right direction. I am.
When I open the door I find that I'm the only one in the room. Yay for being way too early...
Sighing, I make my way to the teacher's desk. My teacher for this 'class' is Mrs. Clay. Looking at her from where I am, she looks decent. Well she looks better than the receptionist, who could be wry pretty if she got fashion advice and took it.
Mrs. Clay's wearing a black suit jacket, a white camisole, and a black pencil skirt. Doesn't sound bad, right? Well, it's not, what is bad is her brown knee high boots she has accompanying everything else. Shivers run up my back at the thought of black and brown together.
'Gross,' I take another look at her and let a small smile jump on my face, 'She looks happy and she does have really pretty hair.'
I loudly clear my throat to get her attention. her head spins toward me. She smile, "Oh! Hello Miss," She pauses and thinks for a moment, "Miss Tess."
I smile, "Hello, can you sign this for me?" I hand her my attendance check. Mrs. Clay takes it from my hands and signs it.
"Okay, here you go. You can sit anywhere you want to. There's not a lot of students that have this study period so I don't really care what you do. Actually, you can leave if you want to just don't say anything. If you get caught though, tell them I sent you out to get me a coffee from the teacher's lounge." She says as she hands my paper back to me.
