Nagisa muttered curses under her breath as she repeatedly entered and exited the room to treat the redhead who caught a cold.

'Sorry, Nagisa-kun, for giving you extra work like this.' The redhead shot her a sheepish smile as he apologised when Nagisa handed him a bowl of chicken soup.

The blunette sighed as she took a seat beside the redhead. 'It's fine. I would've gotten the cold if it wasn't for you who waited for me. Thanks for that.'

The redhead couldn't help but feel his face heat up at the memory. Nagisa had linked hands with him, and gave his hand a gentle squeeze before going into the building. Karma hid his red face with the bowl as he recalled what had happened.

'But the two of you were definitely acting like idiots, training in the rain... What the heck were you guys thinking?!' She yelled at the redhead, a vein clearly visible on her head.

Before he could open his mouth, she interrupted. 'You know what? I don't even want to hear it. You're probably just going to give me a smart remark anyways.'

Taking the bowl away from him, she placed a hand on the redhead's forehead. 'You really have a bad fever.' She sighed as she told him.

'Stay here. I need the wash the dishes.' She told him, standing up and exiting the room, but stopped midway as Karma called out to her.

'Wait! What do I do here then?'

'Sleep.' She simply replied before slamming the door behind her.

Frowning, the redhead did as he was told and tried to get some sleep.

About a half hour later, the blue haired assassin returned with a bucket of cold water and a piece of white cloth hanging off her left shoulder.

She soaked the cloth throughly before slapping it onto the redhead's forehead in annoyance, earning a small yelp of pain from him.

'Ow! What was that for?!'

'S-sorry, I have a habit of taking my anger out on others...' The blunette sighed. 'I was just.... thinking about some things that really.... frustrated me.'

'And.....? What are those things that frustrated you?' The redhead asked out of pure curiosity.

'Home... and stuff. Nothing important.' The blunette muttered, averting her gaze.

'Why would thoughts of home frustrate you?' Karma tilted his head in confusion. 'I know I'd like to return home. Sadly, what makes my home, home left this world a long time ago.'

'I.... don't consider my home.... home. It's never been a home before, really.' Nagisa's sighed, hanging her head as she looked down at her hands. 'Honestly, this place is my only home.'

Karma turned away from the blunette, finally breaking the awkward silence. 'So uh.... why do you hate your father so much?'

Nagisa's head immediately snapped up at the question. It took him a while to reply. 'I.... it's complicated. My parents have set up their own rules that... may or may not completely conflict each others' rules. Doesn't matter which side I choose. I'd still get punished for every single thing I do.'

'That's harsh.... what kind of punishments do you get? And what do you get them for? Looking like a girl?' He joked, making Nagisa's frown.

'I can't tell you what kind of punishment I receive, but I can tell you their reason for doing so.' The blunette averted his gaze. 'I.... my mom never wanted a boy, while my dad could have never stood putting up with a girl. That's why I'm used to doing chores, and have my hair grown long.'

Karma let his mouth hang open for a moment or two. 'Shoot, sorry, I didn't mean-'

'It's fine. I personally think my dad's more scary, so I side with him more often, though they're probably just the same.' The blunette averted her gaze away from the redhead. 'Get some rest. If you want something, just call me. I'll be... around here....'

She got up and started walking towards a corner of the room, only just a few feet away from the redhead to read through her textbook.

Karma groaned as he got bored quite quickly. His nosed was blocked, his head felt like exploding, and he felt like gravity was being a little bit more mean to him than he was for others. Getting sick was just terrible, but only the boredom was what really killed the redhead.

'Nagisa-kun, do you still get nightmares?' He asked suddenly, staring up at the ceiling as he spoke.

It took a moment for the shorter assassin to respond, but she did in the end, probably because she was a little taken aback by the question. 'Yes, why?'

'What are they about?' Nagisa frowned at the question, sighing as she put away her book.

'Well.... They are.... mostly about my childhood trauma....' she sighed. 'For a few years, I.... I had some horrific experiences.'

'Why do you have to be so indirect?' Karma groaned in annoyance, sitting up to face Nagisa with an unidentifiable look. 'C'mon... you can tell me.'

Nagisa stared at the redhead for a moment, before closing her eyes and letting out a sigh. 'I'm not ready to tell anyone yet, sorry.'

Karma sighed too, before lying back down on the futon with a huff. 'Fine.'

There was a short silence between them. Karma started getting bored again, so he requested. 'Tell me a secret of yours, and I'll tell you mine.'

Nagisa sighed, her gaze travelling down to the floor. 'No point in that. I'm a hacker. I know everything about you.'

Karma sat up once again, frowning at her. 'Aren't you a joy-kill.'

Nagisa glanced up at the redhead, immediately looking away as a pang of guilt hit her.

'Sorry.' She whispered. 'I guess... I can tell you a secret of mine.'

'I am.... not what I seem.'

'Obviously not.' Karma rolled his eyes at the words. 'You look like an innocent cinnamon roll but you're actually a sadistic assassin. You look like a sweet, innocent little boy, but you're actually feisty and sassy. You look like the weakest person in the world, but you're actually the strongest one of all of us.'

'Assassins are meant to be deceivers.' Nagisa whispered. 'Faking everything to get our jobs done. Acting, lying....... they're skills we as assassins need to perfec-'

'Fuck that!' Karma interrupted. 'You act robotic enough, no need to quote whatever rules your dad tells you. That's your family's way. I'll assassinate my way.'

The blunette was quiet for a moment, before she softly responded. '.....Sorry.' Karma could barely hear her.

'.... Why are you apologising?' Karma raised a brow at her, frowning as he noticed her freeze at the sentence.

'Don't.... say that.' Nagisa curled herself into a ball, hiding her face in her knees. Karma's eyes widened as he heard the faint sobs of the shorter assassin.

'H-hey... why are you crying?'

'Leave me alone....'

The redhead had no clue on what to do. He wasn't the best at comfort and he doubt Nagisa would want anyone else to see her crying.

He decided to get up and walk towards her after a while, taking a seat behind her and rubbing her back gently.

'There, there...'

Sorry it's a bit short.
