The honeymoon had begun. The couple had touched down in Tahiti about fifteen minutes ago. They had taken a short taxi ride from the small airport to the rental property on the beach they had booked for two weeks.
It was a one bedroom, one bathroom property with a pool and patio area but also very close beach access. It had a really nice view and was a beautiful location for the newlyweds to spend their honeymoon and their first few days as a married couple. After all, it should be the best holiday of their lives and the two of them were ecstatic.
It was a seven and a half plane journey and there is a five hour time difference so the newlyweds were quite jet lagged and tired so they took a nap when they arrived after quickly unpacking their things. They woke a few hours later and decided to go out for dinner.
Caitlin wore a nice maxi sundress with some heeled sandals whilst her husband wore a t-shirt and shorts with sandals too. They didn't take long to get ready and quickly set out to go to a local bar which also served food too, walking hand in hand down the streets.
It was a small town, sparsely populated but a beautiful place. The locals mostly all spoke French but as it was a tourist location many spoke English as well so it would be easy for them to get around and find their way around. The particular bar that they were going to was very popular with tourists and they had been told by their taxi driver to do there. It was a famous watering hole in the town and one of the most popular in the town.
"This place is beautiful. I have fallen in love with it already. I think our honeymoon is going to be wonderful here," Caitlin spoke as they sat down at a table.
The owner of the bar came over to their table and asked them what they wanted to eat and drink which they quickly replied with the most indigenous food and drink from the island they have to share. The owner went to get their drinks and returned to them, asking why they had decided to come to this little island which they replied that it's their honeymoon. She congratulated them both before going to get their food going.
"Everyone seems really nice. We haven't been here for very long but so far everyone we have met has been really nice. Nobody is like that back home," Caitlin continued before sipping on her cocktail which consisted of rum and some other stuff that she didn't catch. "Mmm, this is really nice,"
Barry smiled at his wife and placed his hand on hers, gazing into her eyes which she returned as she continued to sip, the smile on her face lifting the corners of her mouth. She laced their fingers together and looked down at their wedding rings touching each other. It had only been a couple of days since they had been married so when still wasn't quite used to the rings and being referred to as each other's spouses and husband and wife. It was a little strange but she knew that she would get used to it soon. They only had their whole lives together to get used to it.
"We should go swimming tonight. On the beach. It will be a good way to start our first night here. Our way of saying hello to the island. Besides, I seriously doubt that we will be doing anything intimate tonight, we are both way too tired. But we can do that tomorrow night," Barry suggested.
"That sounds like a good idea. As long as my hair doesn't get wet. I don't want to spend ages drying it before we go to bed," she replied, wrinkling her nose.
"Whatever you say, my love," he teased with an all-knowing look. He knew inside that her hair probably will get wet and he will very much enjoy the look on her face when it does and watching her dry her hair before going to bed. He would definitely make sure to distract her later. And her being a little annoyed with him doesn't matter, she loves him either way and had promised to always love him. They are married now, she has to live her no matter what. For better or for worse. Even if he can be annoying at times.
