Izuku coughed as his opponent's smokescreen clouded the arena that they were battling in. He shook his head to try to get the smell out of his nose. He could feel his eyes blurring and cringed at how he must look right now. He didn't know who he was up against. No one but the referee knew who you were. For safety purposes.
Rio let out a snarl to gain Izuku's attention, he nodded and yelled out his next command, AURA SPHERE. Rio closed her eyes and put her palms together, allowing a small sphere of aura to grow. She shot it at a random part in the smokescreen and hit the opponents Zubat head on. Ending the battle. Izuku let out a sigh and smiled, chuckling a little as Catalyst wiggled in his hood. He could feel the other person walking towards him and he tensed a little before he felt them reach a hand out for a shake. He reached his out in return and was shocked by the grip they had.
"Good match" and they walked away. Izuku just shook his head and went on to his next battle.
------
And now Izuku waited. He sat in his room, he knew that he did well but was it well enough? His mother was worried for him, she loved him and didn't want him hurt. She wanted his dream to come true, but at what cost.
------
He did it. He got in. When Rio brought him the letter he was surprised to see that it was in braille. He slowly ran his fingers across the page, letting the letters visualize in his mind. He let out a huge grin and stated laughing, Catalyst looked up from where she was sniffing a flower and looked at him with slight confusion. He could feel the sting in his eyes and could feel the tears wetting his cheeks, Rio licked his cheeks in comfort before he threw his arms around her. She let out a yelp and held her trainer close.
Catalyst let out an indignant squeak at being left out. Izuku snorted and reached out a hand to her so she could get to hm. She snuggled into his chest, her fur (?) tickling his chin. All the excitement caused Inko to walk in.
"Izuku?" She feared for her son. He knew how badly he wanted to get into U.A.
"Mom..." Izuku started, "I got in." Inko took a second to process what her son just said, and then the tears started falling. She ran over to Izuku and she hugged him as tightly as possible. She couldn't believe it! She loved him with all of her heart and she felt like something had been ripped from her chest when he lost his sight. He had so much determination and he wouldn't stop training, to the point where it nearly became unhealthy. He had grown so much in such a short time and she was stunned by who her timid son is now.
"I love you," She whispered, holding her son close.
------
Izuku had just arrived at U.A. The building was quite imposing, even with only having semi-seeing eyes. He felt Rio next to him and Catalyst in his hood. He didn't know where to go so he took a step forward and immediately tripped. He thought that he'd hit the ground and closed his eyes but he felt a tug on his neck. He looked back and saw a Magnemite holding onto the zipper part of his jacket. He quickly righted himself and turned to face the other trainer who was running up to him. The girl came up to him and he turned his aura-vision off, he felt Rio saddle up beside him.
"A-are you a-alright?" She was panting when she asked him this, he nodded in reply.
"That's good. I'm Ururaka Ochako, nice to meet you!"
"I'm Midoriya Izuku, nice to meet you to Ururaka," he said and put out his hand for her to shake.
"Do you need help getting around?" She asked, noticing that he couldn't see. He liked people well enough but hated it when they pitied him because he couldn't see the same way they could.
"I'm fine thanks." He said and he could basically feel the worry radiating off of her.
"Okay, well see you around! Oh I-I'm sorry I didn't mean-" she stammered.
Izuku shook his head, "It's fine, don't worry." He felt her nod in uncertainty and he heard her walk away. He let out a sigh and felt Catalysts' wet nose nudge against his neck.
This is gonna be fun...
