Sticky fingers
Her phone buzzed as she slipped into the hallway, rolling her eyes as yet another victim to the sticky maple arose.
As she slipped the phone back into her pocket, two girls pushed past her and darted for the locker room. She followed their trail with her gaze and watched as Betty and Veronica stormed through the doorway.
Her eyes fell onto the scruffy boy waiting for her by the hallway, confusion laced in his expression. With a sly smirk to hide her concern, Bella mouthed to the boy for him to go on without her and suddenly she leapt to follow the aggravated girls.
"Let's keep this simple, so that your preppy-murderer half brain can grasp it. Take this the hell down." Veronica snapped, shoving her phone into chuck Claytons face. The boy chuckled to him and his friends, finding humour in her anxiety.
"Okay, that high toned bitch attitude may have worked on the betas you dated in new York. But your in bull dog territory now." He spat to the petite raven haired girl, winking toward the blonde huddled behind her.
The team began to bark toward the pair, snapping their jaws as if they were ravaged dogs.
"Oh, boys." Bella sighed, shaking her head as she appeared between the two girls.
"You may bark, but where is your bite." Bella folded her arms as she stepped toward chuck, her eyebrows raised with an unamused smile.
"Because from where I'm standing you're no bulldogs. All I see are chihuahuas."Chuck growled as the girl grinned back at him, waiting for a coherent response. Knowing of her wit and stubbornness, Chuck pushed past the brunette and towered over Veronica.
"Fight back V, you can't hide behind your friends forever."

The day pulled forward and Bella begged for jughead to understand why she ditched him in interrogating a certain scouting group.
She had left the girls after their determination to stop the 'maple syrup' from ravaging the school. Bella had tried desperately to tell them to leave it alone, that it wasn't anything they needed to pull back from the past.
But Betty and Veronica were a forced to be reckoned with; and unknowingly were about to cause a hurricane of pain for their sharp tongued friend.

Bella pulled her brunette hair into a bun as she hurried to the blue and gold, her face flushed red. She stumbled to a stop as she reached the threshold, unexpectedly greeted by many familiar faces.
"Don't tell me this is an intervention." She smirked as some loose hair slipped down her cheeks, her tongue lapping over her red lips slightly in worry.
The raven haired girl came barrelling into the room soon after, a quizzical stare on her face as she waited for a coherent explanation.
"This story is bigger than we thought." Betty began, her expression stoic as if she was the one hurt herself. Some girls looked away or to the floor as Betty spoke, the fear evident in the thick tension quilting the room.
"I started asking around, to see if what happened to you, V, happened to anyone else. And if anyone would go on record." The room was silent as they allowed Betty to explain, bile rising in Bellas throat.
Anger began to boil into her blood, chewing at her cheeks as she waited quietly for this to be over.
"Why am I here?" Bella snapped, her eyes shrouding in darkness to hide the significant pain.
"Dial back the venom Bells." Veronica muttered, jabbing her elbow into the brunettes side. Bella scowled at the new York queen as Ethel began to retell a torturous story.
"One day last year, Chuck and I talked in the library for 10 minutes. I helped him with a Pre-Cal problem, and nothing happened." Her tone was hesitantly soft, not wanting unneeded people to hear.
Bella felt pity for the red head as the story unfolded, but her own memories were resurfacing and she had to push them back down.
"But the next day, he... He started telling people that I let him do stuff to me." In between sniffles of tears Ethel looked up for approval from her new friends, hoping what she revealed would help.
Betty couldn't help but notice the stiffness of the brunette as her lips drew back to be nagged on her teeth.
"Bella?" She asked quietly, snapping the girls train of thought and allowing a droplet of blood to fall from her rosy lips.
"I don't know why you asked me here, Betty. I am not some scarred girl with an emotional axe to grind with some half arsed jocks." Bella seethed, swiping away the crimson droplet as soon as it bled to her skin.
"I want you to help." Betty pressed, a sad look flitting on her face. Bella groaned, hitting her palm against her forehead as her blood continued to boil.
"When will you get it, Betty! I don't help people." She bit out, ignoring all of the confused expression directed at her frame. Betty jumped back slightly, still suspicious of her friends augmented reaction.
"Whatever little heroine act this is. Leave me the hell out of it." In one swift turn Bella was storming to the door, stopping for a moment at the sight of Cheryl bombshell blossom.
"Get out of my way bloodbath blossom." Before the redhead could respond, Bella had already pushed her way through. Ignoring the questions littered behind her.

1k!
Bella may seem sharp and quite unbothered by the way she is perceived in this chapter. But she is very clearly bothered. It is difficult for her to listen and so she closes off. She is a serpent after all.
