After getting shot from protecting my employer in my past life I woke up to find myself almost being attacked by someone. Moving on my reflexes and training as a bodyguard I defended myself. It took me a moment to figure out what had happened to me. The pink puffy dress  was not something that I've seen people wear or would want to wear. Then memories started rushing in my head making me dizzy.

Once I became stable again I finally noticed the pain in my heart. There was blood spreading on my dress, mostly on the left side of my chest. Once the pain started to ease, I saw a person charging towards me, I was used to grabbing my gun that was always hanging on my waist, but remembered that there wasn't any gun.

Mela looked around and noticed the weapon shed and grabbed the sword that was within her reach. She wasn't an expert in the sword area so she held it like a gun, nice, tight, and focus, then she swung it.

Will as expected the sword didn't cause any major injuries, but it did make some deep wounds. She tied the four men together, but she didn't feel satisfied. In her past life she had to withhold her killing spree so people wouldn't see her as a monster and employers would hire her without the fear that she was going to kill them in their sleep. So she stepped on their most vulnerable spot almost crushing it, then she walked away, but the four guys were so scared they urinated themselves.

~Back to the Present~

It was once calm again after the surprise attack was dealt with. The general and his family didn't question Mela any longer, because there was a rumor that had been going around for weeks that there was a magician who would erase the memories of young ladies and use them to their advantage, so the General, his wife, and their sons thought that was what happened to Mela, although they weren't use to her new cold personality it was better than before.

After the surprise attack Mela hasn't been seen as often, so everybody thought she was still afraid of the surprise attack, but in actuality she was in her quarter reading books about her family history and the history of the Royal family. She took the books from one of the trunks that was used for traveling and contained things that her father wanted her to study, but never forced her. "Miss, the General has asked you to join them for dinner." A guard who was watching over her said, he didn't believe that the young miss has changed, but is acting.

Mela had long changed her pink stained dress into a black and blue dress, although she wasn't fond of velvet fabric this was the only thing in the closet that wasn't pink or shined. She decided that she'll give all the other dresses that she didn't want to the poorer ones when they got back to the kingdom. She also washed away the mud looking color in her hair and now it was a reddish orange color, the same as her mother's.

Mela arrived in the room where the other commanders were sitting with the General and his family. There was a seat empty next to her mother, so she made her way there. Everybody was astonished by the General's daughter, they didn't believe it when people were saying how she changed. But seeing her now, not wearing her usual bright puffy colored dress they didn't know how to react, but to keep their eyes on her, waiting for her personality to change back. But throughout the dinner she didn't speak. "Father, me and the other commanders have concluded that we take the back ways to the kingdom, we'll likely not be attacked again." The General nodded his head, but then a gentle voice said something, "If you want everybody to be killed, then go ahead." Mela took a bite of the dessert then with a disgusted expression spit it out on a napkin, "And why do you say that?" Her father asked and everybody looked at her waiting for what she had to say, "Going the original route is shorter and there are less likely to be another secret attack, because there are people always going and coming into the woods. And if something were to happen we'll be close enough to the kingdom to send a messenger. While the back routes has a lot of hidden dark corners, making the enemy to wait on us." She said drinking her cup that she also found disgusting. Everybody were silently pondering and weighed what she said, but the General laughed out loud, "Good! Good! We'll try out my daughter's strategy." Nobody objected to it and went along with it.

As the talking between the General and his commanders continued. Ashyer and Arvel tried talking to Mela, but she only gave them one-worded responses, making it a bit awkward. "Mela, I heard you were interested in his highness, the prince, although he hasn't returned to the kingdom for 5 years I heard he's staying in the kingdom for a couple of weeks." Her mother, Slona, asked. Mela thought through her memories and found that she had never met the prince, but her cousins used her as a paw to announce her "fake" marriage to the prince, because she was the General's only daughter and they thought they would get advantages off of her if she were to enter the Royal family. "I am not interested in his highness. I've never met him before, so how could I be interested? Mother this daughter may not have been the best in the past, but I am wiser now." Then the atmosphere turned awkward again. Mela grabbed a butter knife and was about to spread some butter onto her bread, but then she sensed movement from the intruder, she knew there was one the moment she sat down, but wanted to wait a bit. She silenced her surroundings and tried to pinpoint where the intruder was. Mela got up, making everybody stop their conversation and wait for her to act as her old self again, an embarrassment to the General. When she walked to the middle of the table she smiled, making the people who saw it get shivers, "If you'll excuse me commanders," they didn't know what she was doing, but when they saw that she had a butter knife they thought she wanted the food that was placed by them. But when she reached out and stabbed the middle of the table, everybody were confused and were about to laugh at her stupidly for not even aiming at the food correctly, they heard a "thump" everybody moved away and there was blood pooling under the table spread. The General used his strength and flipped the long table to its side and there everybody saw a man dressed in black bleeding from the wound in his stomach. "What is this? A spy? Is this how we were attacked?!" The General was so furious that he forgot to identify the man, "Guards! Take him and torture him for answers!" They never saw the General this angry so the guards tried to hurry. "Wait." Everybody looked towards the calm voice with thoughts going through their head 'What does she want?! Can't she not see the General is angry?!' Mela walked towards the man dressed in black and took off the black clothing covering his face. Everybody turned pale feeling the rage of the General increase even more, "Commander Smith? I thought you were heavenly injured?" The General tried to stay calm, but the commander didn't reply, because of the pain. "Take him away!" The General said and walked out of the room.

Later Ashyer, Arvel, and Mela were called to the office of their father. "I'm sorry for causing a disaster at the table, but as you know we don't know who else is a spy in our army, so I want you guys to be more conscious. Ashyer and Arvel I want you to put more security around Mela assign your most trusted man." The brothers hesitate but knew better than to go against their father especially with all that happened. "Ashyer, do you have any more room in your troop?" Ashyer shook his head then their father looked towards Arvel, but he also shook his head. The their father sighed, "Now that they don't have a commander I can't just let them off or else we'll face a decrease of people and the limit for the other commanders are also full. What should I do?" Their father rubbed the bridge of his nose, then Mela spoke up, "Father, please let me be in charge of commander Smith's troop." Everybody in the room looked at her, "I can't let you do that Mela, although you are my daughter, you do not have the qualities to control a troop and my army doesn't not have a good impression of you." Then Mela went down on one knee with her right hand fisted on her heart. "Please father give this unfilial daughter one last chance to show her strength!" It was silent for a couple of minutes then their father sighed again, "Okay Mela I'll give you this last chance, but you have to earn their trust and bring them up. Who knows how many of them were spies like Smith." The sons couldn't believe their father, but they all bowed and left. Ashyer and Arvel wanted to talk with Mela, but she went a different direction.

As Mela walked away she had a smile that would send shivers down other's body.
