Its been a year and I have not regret a single day. Well in the beginning there were some times where I wished my brother was with me and there were times when I wanted to just give up but seeing my teammates getting major injuries due to the harsh training it motivated me, because even though they were hurt they didn't take a break from training. That motivation is what made me into who I am today. Gone was the muscle-less limbs and in came muscles that still looked good even on a lady. There were times when the commander, Mela, would train me personally. Since we were both females she taught me body strengthening techniques that made my flat stomach into a muscle barrier she called it "abs". It was a bit awkward at first but after I learned her actions I became comfortable around her. She even gave me the choice to become her right wing commander. I thought I was unworthy and that the other soldiers were going to be furious that I was going to be her right wing commander but later I found out that they were the ones who recommended me. That's when I knew this troop was forever going to have a special place in my life.
I have met up with my brother a couple of times but each time it always ended with him wanting to talk to Mela about my "harsh" treatment because when we'd meet up I would look tired but I would stop him from doing anything because I wanted to mature by myself. So after a couple of "check-ins" with my brother I stopped meeting up with him and began concentrating on my training. I was taught so many things that I've never even seen or heard of before but I believe Mela knew what she was doing. There were times when I doubt the current Mela was really the Mela from the past but I didn't dwell on it because the current Mela was better than the spoil, annoying, dog Mela.
Currently I was sitting with the troop for dinner. Yes, although I was the right wing commander I still ate with the troops because in this troop there was nothing different. It doesn't matter the status, except for the Commander, but we all stuck together. Everybody got along and over the year we began to be more playful in front of each other and they respected me, not that they didn't before, but they didn't treat me with caution. But in front of serious situations our actions can change in a matter of seconds. My teammates were like my family, maybe even closer.
"Commander," I stood up and bowed. Yes, I was a princess and shouldn't be bowing to others but at the moment I wasn't a princess. Mela nodded and looked at everyone. "Get everyone in place at the main training ground after dinner," she said and turned and left. "Everybody do not rush to eat but the commander wants us all lined up at the main training ground," everyone continued eating at their regular pace but we still got to the training ground on time.
"Commander are we going to be doing some exercises?" I asked since this was the first time she had made us come out this late. Usually we had dinner than hanged around then everyone went to sleep early. But the Commander didn't respond, instead she had on a serious face. That's when I knew she also didn't know what was going on. Then we heard other people coming, like usual we had our defenses up. But it turns out it was just the sword and arrow troops.
"Sister you were already here? I made a bet with brother to see who was going to arrive first," Arvel the youngest son said in a playful matter towards Mela but she still had her expressionless face on. Ashyer looked at his brother as if he was an idiot. Its been a year and he was still trying to cozy up to Mela.
It was an awkward silence as nobody talked except for some of the people within the sword and arrow troop. But then someone from the sword group made his way to the combat troop. Now it was officially silent because both troops had heard about the unusual and scary things the combat troop has done and they knew to keep away from them but the person who was brave enough to walk towards them was the Prince! Even Ashyer and Arvel didn't know what to do because he was the prince and they still had to show him some respect but his sister, the princess, was in Mela's group and they don't know what might've happened to her since they rarely see Mela training with her troop. "Sister," Prince Trystan walked up to the familiar female in the combat troop. "How have you been brother?" Princess Renee gave her brother a smile but it seemed a bit different. "Has the General's daughter been treating you right?" He said in a whisper so no one could hear. But what he didn't expect was that she was smiling even wider. "I do not regret choosing this path. I've grown and experienced many things that I never thought I would ever do," Princess Renee knew her brother still had the thought of her being innocent in his head so she sugar coated the words so he wouldn't know the adrenaline rush she had during training and missions. With that she was glad that she wasn't going to be the heir to the throne. "You've....changed," he has never seen her with so much confidence usually she was always by his side but now her aura seemed to have changed. "Brother this change was something I needed and I worked hard to get to where I'm at. Please be happy for me," she tried to get her brother to accept her change and not blame Mela. It was about time her brother stop seeing her in the "pure innocent always needing protection" light. Prince Trystan still couldn't believe it but if it was for her he would try. The two siblings talked a bit longer than he walked back to his troop.
Nobody knew why they were here but they've been waiting for a long time. Ashyer was about to get someone to go inform the General that he was late but before he could tell a guard hundreds of black clothed people started attacking them. "How did they get in?!"
