If you can't stand the heat,
Then stay out of the fire,
You might get what you desire.
Boy, love is strange,
Sometimes it makes you crazy,
It can burn or break you down.

"You're a pig!" she shouted, mascara smeared all over her face as she cried hysterically. "Ho-how?! Tell me it isn't true!!" she slid down on her knees, and begged desperately. "You didn't cheat o-on m-me, right?" Her words were accompanied by hiccups; she cried hysterically on the cold floor of the hallway. It was still an hour before class so it wasn't surprising that there weren't many people yet. In fact it was only us in here.

What supposed to be a normal, boring day turned upside down as soon as we heard this couple arguing by the pathway. As much as I wanted to go out there and punch the guy, I had to let her deal with him first. My friends and I huddled by the edge of the wall adjacent to where they stood, looking out in case the beast went ape shit crazy.

Suddenly, Kris stepped back and crashed quite hardly to my back and I careened backwards, automatically pushing Gerard to the lockers behind us.

"Holy shhhhhh—" We exclaimed in panic yet still managed to curse in whispery manner.

"What the fuck man!" Gerard eyed me with irritation as his entire face and neck were red; I'm sure it was the same for Kris and I.

"Not me, this jackass!" I sneered at pointed at a guilty-looking Kris with my thumb.

"Sorry." He raised his hands in the air as if surrendering to the police for robbing a bank. "But Ted looked this way, I had to hide!" he explained and we silently agreed to forgive each other before turning our attention back to the couple who were at the edge of their deleterious relationship.

"I'm sorry I was drunk," Ted said absentmindedly; it was obvious that he wasn't genuinely remorseful. Even the bored eyes and low smirk was a giveaway.

"How could you? What does that college girl have that I don't?!" Tiffany stood up and sneered at him.

"Trust me babe, she's no one." Again, a mindless reply.

"What do you take me for? A fool?! You think I'm not aware of your side flings?! I kept my mouth shut because you told me you were only flirting but now it's over!! I'm breaking up with you!! You're a jerk!!"

Ted's eyes widened as his nose flared, clearly displeased of what Tiffany said. "Listen here you bitch!" He grabbed her arm harshly that she whimpered. "You are not my wife for you to be shouting at me early in the morning. And hell, it's not my fault when you're so boring, looking the other way is as easy as taking a dump. If I had known you'd be a prude, I wouldn't even bat an eye ay you. You basically baited yourself with your slutty clothes. You don't yell at me like that!! You're just a girl!!" Tiffany gasped and so did my friends and I.

"Ho-how could you?" she whispered in shock. "Ho-how co-could yo-you?" Ted mocked and chuckled. Tiffany's breathing visibly fastened and her hands visibly shook. In an instant, one of these small hands connected to Ted's cheek and created a painful sound. Damn.

"Why you—" the sight of Ted's meaty hands drawing back to aim a straight punch had me plummeting my ass off to stop him from swinging his already set fist at Tiffany.

"Stop that Ted," I said, loud and authoritative enough, stopping him seconds from inflicting pain. Tiffany's tensed shoulders visibly sagged when she noticed our arrival. Quickly, Gerard went to her side and took her away.
