A swelling desire to garrote the neck of my bodyguard overwhelmed my senses. Numerous convulated names that were not-so-nice roamed my head as I stood there in the middle of the open space near the amphitheater. But I stood my ground, not willing to burst my bubble. Not even the frivolous giggles that roamed around could take my wall down. I refused to be defeated. If only this person beside me, who was the cause of this atrocious noise, contributed to my efforts. If only, I scoffed mentally. I doubted he even knew of my discomfort. He was too busy reveling on the attention to notice and remotely care. All he did, subsequent to our arrival, was to wave and wink at the females whose eyes bugged out at the sight of him.
To some degree, I was thankful that he shifted the unwanted attention from me to himself. Since I woke up today, all I worried of was the susurrations that would surely greet me once I arrived school.
But that was all there was to my being grateful. What he was currently doing now was beyond the bounds of his responsibility.
"Mario.", I bit his name out. No response. "Mario, I'm talking to you." This time, I faced him and spoke louder. Enough for him to clearly hear me but not enough for everybody else.
"Mario!!" Damn!!!
"Huh? Did you call me?" His eyes blinked repeatedly as they panned to me.
"Yes!!"
He raised both his palms. "Whoa!! Hold it. You need a chill pill. What did I do?"
" Absolutely nothing!-", I hissed. "-because you're too busy flirting instead of doing your job!!"
He tsk-tsked at me.
Sometime today, I was going to bash his head.
I clenched and unclenched my fists repeatedly to stop myself from raising the infamous finger. I hoped for Kris and Gerard to arrive sooner.
"Good morning Grey!!"
What's so good in my morning you leech?!
I toyed with my jacket's buttons, suddenly finding them interesting. Anything to avoid leeches. Anything to avoid leeches.
"Grey, Hi!!"
I forgot that Tatiana was the kind of girl that didn't recognize rejection when it was practically shoved to her face.
So to stop her babbling, I gave her a snobish look. Her schmaltz-inspired smile faltered which gave me a modicum of satisfaction.
"Yes?"
She awkwardly cleared her throat. "Uuhhmm..I was just wondering how you're doing after...you know." she drawled.
"Almost getting shot?"
"Ye-yes." She cringed.
"Why don't you take a guess?" Not able to stop myself, my eyes rolled with the foolishness of her question.
That's when I noticed them.
Mario, the prick that he was, was incessantly flirting with Yvanna. Smirking and wriggling his eyebrows in full-out efforts, not remotely affected of her acid glares. Her surly gestures didn't stop my pesky bodyguard at all.
My patience lurched to near voidness.
"You two!", I snapped, my eyes transforming into slits as I eyed Mario threateningly.
"What?"
If you don't leave her alone, I will personally push you off the top of a 10-story building!!!
