"Steph! Oh my God! Can you walk even slower? Please? I beg you!" My new step-sister whined sarcastically.
"Well, why do I need to carry all the bags, Your Majesty?" I snap at her.
"Just to inform you. You are moving into my house. Not that you actually had a choice. That shack could barely be called a home.." Julia said, still being pretty annoyed, but she moved her long and tanned legs back in my direction.
"What is in here?" She groans as she takes 2 boxes from my weak and shaking arms.
"Stuff." I mumble, not really wanting to give her too much information. I am supposed to be the shy and mysterious step-sister, right? Even in my mind I could here the bitter and angry sacrasm, and I shake my head. My mom just met him. Why was she already moving in with him? Not only did he have 2 children, but one of them was even in my grade. And out of all 115 students it had to be the devil itself: Calum Hood.
"Coming, dream bear?" Julia calls again, but this time from the porch of the huge, but worn down house. I don't even know if that was something to describe a house, but "worn out" fitted the description of the building infront of me perfectly.
I nod, letting my blond ponytail rock back and forth.
"Dream Bear?" I hear his voice call from somewhere inside the house. His deep laughter seemed to shake the whole building as I stepped up the stairs and entered.
Julia joined in, and I tried to block out most of it.
"Hey! Why so quiet? It fits you perfectly!" Calum winked at me. His brown almond-shaped eyes seemed to laugh at me as I glared into them.
"HarHar. You guys are so hilarious!" I mumble back at them, causing them to laugh even harder.
"And that mumbling? Are you sure your father isn't a Dream Bear?" Calum joked again, but this time it really had reached the end.
"You don't get to mention my father." I hiss, and turn around, storming up to my new room.
"Geez. What is the matter with her?" I hear Julia whisper amused, before I slam my door firmly shut.
--
"Stephanie!" I hear my mother shout from downstairs. Her voice sounds happy and relaxed, as if for once in her life everything was right. For her at least.
"I'm coming!" I shout back, and groan, slowly getting up from my bed. I skip down the stairs, anxiously hoping of not seeing Calum and Julia.
Just as I step into the kitchen, my hopes angrily fade away.
"Hey, Dream Bear." Julia giggles, and I just roll my eyes, as I lean on the counter.
"Please, Stephanie, please sit down." Mr. Hood's deep voice orders me. I unhappily do what he says, and sit down on a chair.
"We," my mom loveling looks into Mr. Hood's eyes, and I needed to gag a little, "have decided that Steph and Calum should spend lunch together from now on. For at least a week. And don't dare to cheat. I'm a teacher at the school, and I can see you."
Calum and me groan in unison. "What about Julia?" Calum says, obviously being annoyed.
"Well, she is one grade below you, and doesn't have the same lunch time as you guys. You should know that, Calum." Calum's father replies disapprovingly.
"Ok, ok!" Calum throws his hands protectively above his head.
"It's settled then." My mother replies, and smiles at me, but all she receives is an angry glare.
"Why, Mom! It's not like we moved, or anything! I have friends in my grade who I would like to spend my lunch with." I try to agrue but I already know it was settled.
"Tough luck." was all she replied, before turning around to Mr. Hood, and smiling at him in a longing way.
"Ugh, God!" I shout, and shoot out of the kitchen.
I heard Calum's heavy footsteps behind me, as he runs after me.
"I also hate this. But they are apparently happy so..." He has a questioning tone of voice and his eyebrows are raised.
"So we should just do this." I finish his question, sounding way more sore in comparison to his happy and cheery voice.
"Yeah, Dream Bear!" He jokes, and winks at me.
"If you want this to work, don't call me Dream Bear." I bark at him.
"Sure, Sure. Stephanie." He mumbles, and snickers slightly. His eyes were filled with laughter as I looked deeply into them. It was like they were hyptotising me, making me come closer than I normally would.
"Eh. Sorry." I whisper as I pull back reluctantly.
He just nods, but a small grin glides on his face, as I slowly and confused step up the stairs.
