I looked into his eyes and sighed. "Is this really the end of our story?" I asked him. He smiled sadly and replied, "I guess. You were the best girlfriend that anyone can have, though. Don't think you aren't, okay, Marles?"
"If I was, then you wouldn't break up with me." I said, acting like a child. He smiled, "It was because of that that I'm breaking up with you. Because you're perfect."
I was confused. Should I feel good or not? I thought. Tears stung my eyes as I replied, "You're annoying, Aug."
He smiled, "Don't talk like that. You're making me want to hug you and tell you that I want you back."I frowned. "I'll keep doing it, then."
He grinned and pinched my cheek. "I'm dying, Marley. I can't be with you. You know that, don't you?"
I smiled, "I do....," I smiled, I did, really. But even though I was smiling, tears still rolled down my cheeks. "But I love you, August. Oh goD, I do. I love you so much. And whatever you fucking say, I still and will love you."
He laughed, and choked in his laughter. He hugged me and whispered in my ear, "I want you back."
