no more regrets

I stared into the eyes of my suitor,
As she was pulled away from me.
Even though I told them I didn't knew her,
I wasn't the slightest bit happy.

I wanted her to be free,
But I was too scared.
I think I was a bit cowardly.
Now she lays in front of me, bared.

The king told me that I must kill this woman,
Now he gives me a sword.
I knew it was inhuman.
But I didn't say anything to the lord.

I stared into her eyes.
They were so kind and gentle.
I regretted saying those lies!
But nevertheless, I could only kiss her temple.

I raised my weapon for the king to view,
And the king smiled like it was a work of art.
I whispered to her, "Oh, I love you."
And I struck it to my heart.

The people watching raised to their feet,
And my lovely girl looked at me in horror.
She then took the sword and stabbed herself,
And she dropped next to me with her kind demeanor.

As our lives slowly faded away,
I kissed her lips with a smile.
For I loved her,
And she loved me too..

Though we were to die,
I was happy to spend it with her.
For this mortal life was but a lie,
And eternity was our future.

Death is nothing but a path to another life.

~I don't know if I only thought this up or if I read it somewhere. Most likely the latter.

I'm actually planning to write a short story, like a real short story not like My Tsundere that's supposed to be a short story but low key long. Anyway, the poem's inspired by that short story, much like how my poem "stalker" is inspired by my book A Love Letter, a compilation of love letters (shameless plugzzxccvasd)
