"Beautiful, beautiful." Seth took another shot of the pregnant couple posing in front of him with their five-year-old son. The little boy was currently kissing his mother's belly while his parents were lovingly looking down at him.
The hot Arizona sun was shining down on the four, their setting - the town park. It was a Saturday, so the park was full of people and a lot of children.
Some people were walking, exercising, playing with their dogs, having picnics, just enjoying their Saturday afternoon.
Usually, Seth didn't mind doing pregnancy shoots, but it seemed to be a lot harder since he and his wife haven't successfully conceived a child of their own yet.
He tried not to be envious, but the thing he wanted most in his life was to be a father. Seth wished the family he was currently taking pictures of was of his family and his wife. It was hard not to lose faith, but they've tried more times than they could count, and he was starting to believe it just wouldn't happen for them.
That it just wasn't meant to be.
Seth lived his life doing and having down what he loved. From photography (his dream job) and traveling, life has been great with just him and his wife, but he wanted something more. That more was being a father.
Seth didn't understand how so many people who weren't planning for a child were getting pregnant, yet he and his wife couldn't. It made him angry. It wasn't fair.
Then again, when has life ever been fair?
Resentment and bitterness was the last thing Seth wanted to hold in his heart, but that was hard when being a father was something he really wanted right now.
"Alright, that's it." He snapped the last photo and stood to his feet.
"Thank you so much." The husband said, his eyes beaming with pure happiness.
"Oh, it's no problem." Seth waved his hand before taking his camera from around his neck.
"You really don't know how important this was for us." The wife held her son's hand as they walked over to Seth. "We know you're one of the best in town, and we are currently moving closer to my parents in Kansas. We've been so busy, we didn't get a chance to make an appointment, and you're so booked and busy, we didn't think we would be able to get this opportunity."
She looked down at her son, running her fingers through his blonde locks. "We are so thankful for this."
Seth stared at the family, pushing away the envy that desperately wanted to enter his heart.
"You're welcome. I'm glad I was able to do this, you have a beautiful family." He gave a small smile.
"Thank you," the husband shook his hand.
"Only thing left to do is pick the pictures that you want. I'll go home, edit them, and I'll have them sent to you as soon as possible."
The husband picked up their son, the three of them crowding around Seth to see the pictures he took. As he started going through them, they start commenting on the ones they really liked though they loved them all in general.
"Seth!"
The photographer turned his head to see his wife Genevieve standing a few feet away. She looked to be in a hurry.
"Babe, what are you doing here?" He wasn't expecting her arrival.
"I need to talk to you, now." She waved him over.
She usually didn't interrupt his session without him knowing at least, so if she was here, Seth knew it was important.
"I'm sorry, would you excuse me? I need to talk to my wife." Seth gave the camera to the mother and told her what button to push to look through the photos. "I'll be back. I'm sorry about this."
