Daddy's Baby

"Mommy where is daddy?" My 5 year old daughter asked
Keith is always working and doesn't really spend as much time as he should with her. I know it makes her sad and it makes me sad too.
"Daddy is at work. He should be home soon." I said looking at the clock on my phone
5 hours later
I put y/d/n to bed and as soon as I was about to go to bed myself , the front door opened. I shook my head as soon as I saw him.
"Baby I'm sorry I didn't call. I was super busy today. He said putting his stuff down.
"We need to talk Keith." I said going to our room. We sat down on the bed and was looking at me like he knew what I was about to say.
"Well. Somebody besides me misses you being home."
"Ugh I know I know. I must be a terrible dad."
"No your far from a bad dad. She knows you love her but you need to spend more time with her. Your all she talks about. Daddy this daddy that. I get a little jealous sometimes." I say laughing
"Aw. I gotta make it up to her. If I have to miss work for her then I will."
"She told me the other day she had a boyfriend. It was so funny." I said laughing but he wasn't. He'd kill someone over his daughter.
"Ill let it slide this time."
He had a whole attitude. That was funny too. I was glad he understood what I was talking about. It was very clear to him that he's absent sometimes. It's time for a change for sure.
"So you miss me too huh?"
"So much." I said kissing him
"Then bend it over then." He said slapping my butt

The next day
"Mommy are you ok?"
"Yeah why you ask baby?"
"Well last night you sounded like you were in pain. What was daddy doing to you?"
I couldn't help but laugh
"Nothing we were um.. playing twister and I lost so we started play fighting."
"Oh I love that game! I wish I could've played."
I shook my head and laughed again at my hilarious child.
"Is daddy at work again?"
"Hmm I don't think so." I said looking at Keith sneak up on her
"BOO!"
"Ah daddy you scared me." She said jumping on him
I missed you pretty girl."
She snuggled her head into his neck making herself very comfortable. She's been doing that every since she was born. When he held her for the first time that's what she did and she knew that was her protector and provider besides me. He means the world to her and it made me so happy to see her happy again.
"I think she fell asleep." I whispered
"Daddy's baby." He said laying down on the couch falling asleep with his favorite girl.
