When I walked out of the room, I saw Elliot leaned up against the lockers looking all cool and such, or at least trying to.
“So we meet again,” I said and rolled my eyes. This kid may be gorgeous, but he was seriously making a bad mistake by being friends with me.
“I told you we were going to be friends,” he said and pushed off the wall.
“You’re making a huge mistake,” I muttered under my breath.
“Here are my classes,” he said completely ignoring my comment, as he handed me an unopened envelope. I read the papers on the inside:
Period 1. Honors English 3
Period 2. Algebra 2
Period 3. AP Euro
Period 4. Spanish 2
Period 5/6. Lunch
Period 7. Creative Writing
Period 8. Anatomy and Physiology
“We have Periods 1, 5/6, and 7 together,” I muttered. I had to admit that I was impressed with his classes.
“Well isn’t it just my lucky day!” he said with no trace of sarcasm that I would have suspected.
“It’s a Red day so you have Periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 today.”
“All of my favorite classes in one day? Well that hardly seems fair,” he muttered under his breath.
I ignored his words as I continued down the hallway. I took several glances his way, and I felt him do the same, both trying to be discreet in our actions but failing miserably. I tried to take in his features as much as I could, but the task was difficult when I could only get tiny looks at him. I took note that he was tan and very fit. A white line scared his face, but it gave him a very sexy edge. He was so beautiful it hurt to look at him. He was one of those beautiful people who didn’t know just how heartbreakingly beautiful they are. He was just one of those people who was so innocent, but so scared; like a piece of glass.
I realized I had been gazing upon his beauty too long, when I almost ran into the buffest, biggest senior on the football team. I looked over and he had a small smirk on his pretty face as he said, “I really don’t mind you staring, but you might die soon.”
Die from your beauty or from the big guy that almost bulldozed me over? I question in my head.
“It depends. I’m not very beautiful, but that’s all opinion, and that guy was pretty big, but either might just kill you,” I heard the amusement in his voice as he said this.
“Did I just say that out loud?” I questioned as I felt the blood rush to my cheeks.
“Yes, darling, I believe you just called me beautiful,” he said and gave me a quick wink. There was a small pause, then he whispered, “For the record, I think you are quite beautiful too.”
If I wasn’t blushing before, I was most certainly blushing now. I decided to ignore his comment and just kept walking until the bell rang, and I was supposed to take him to his history classroom. I stopped in front of the door and pointed at it to tell him that this was the place.
I began to walk down the hallway in the direction of my French class when I heard Elliot yell, “So that’s it? No ‘thanks’ for talking up to that bitch back in English class. You know, I chose you because I thought you would be an interesting person, and you looked like you could use a friend.” I stopped in my tracks and turned around to look at him.
My body had a mind of its own again. It marched towards Elliot, but I really didn’t want it too.
“I didn’t need you coming to my rescue. That girl used to be my best friend and ever since I became the school looser, they have been treating me that way. You made a mistake by choosing me to guide you. People will actually think I have a friend, and that friend is you, this super hot boy with a bold character. You have this amazing opportunity to be popular, but you’re wasting it on me. You made a very bad choice Elliot, a very bad choice.”
He just starred at me for a little while. Finally you answered, “What made you this way?”
After I didn’t reply to him for a while, he threw his head down in defeat
“Nothing. Just, you might want to consider never talking to me again unless you want to commit social suicide.”
I turned on my heel and began to walk away. Collin would be proud. In that moment, I felt like I was such a badass.
