You can tell when homecoming is coming around. It starts to slowly seep into every competition until it's the only thing girls are speaking about. And the boys, well their just stressing on who to ask. The odd few posters go up and then another and then another until you start having to rip them off your locker. Their is also the voting for prom king and queen. I'm obviously gonna become one of the 5 final candidates and guaranteed prom queen. No one really campaigns because only the popular seniors get to the final five. That's how it's always been and it's not gonna change anytime soon. My mother was homecoming queen, my sister was homecoming queen, people expect nothing else.
It's not like the title really means anything to me but I can't be below expectations. Disappointment doesn't really run through my blood, we're a family of high achievers. This should just be another easy win for the Goldberg family.
The five candidates for homecoming king and queen will be announced at lunch as people have been voting all week.
I'm walking down the hall, my arms linked with Piper and Chelle as we talk about homecoming.
"I had my dress delivered yesterday and it's absolutely gorgeous, it's one of of a kind, custom made as a dear favour from my mothers close friend Carolina Herrera," I humbly brag to them and I can see a tinge of jealousy in Chelle's eyes. Just the way I like it."Shut up, Carolina Herrera sent you a homecoming dress, that's crazy. I thought Giorgi Armani designing yours last year was the best it could get," Piper gushes and I always will appreciate the attention.
"Sounds freaking amazing Si, if my parents had as many famous friends as yours I'd be on a date with Zac Efron right now," Chelle states and Piper nods in agreement. I pity my less wealthy little friends.
They just can't enjoy life to the extent that I can."Why don't you just ditch the high school boys anyway, you could be dating those hoy Harvard guys of some celebrity," Piper points out and I suddenly get that feeling again. Life at High School is only 4 years of my life, will all of this matter in the long run. I just can't get myself to except this.
"Well you can't doubt for a second that Gray is any sort of let down," I try and justify myself because I've met a lot of those Harvard guys and most are complete dicks.
"Speaking of the devil..." Chelle says as her eyes slide to the group of football players coming down the hall, making a complete racket. Everyone turns their heads to see the noise and some girls eyes lurk a little longer. To me they are just a group of children as Kade has Dayton in a head lock. We are practically their mothers.
"Did I hear you talking about me Si?" Grayson yells from down the hall.
"Not everyone is 24/7 talking about you Sanders," I yell back.
"Oh but you're always in everyone conversations Sierra, what is this week,
murdering half the cheer team," Kade smirks as the group gets closer to us.I simply put my middle finger up at him and I pull Grayson into deep kiss right in the middle of the hallway. Mostly, to rub it in on what Kade missed out on.
"None of that in the hallway Ms Goldberg and Mr Sanders," shouts Mr Clarkson as he walks past us. Me and Grayson break apart but he's still grabbing me by the waste.
"Don't forget who's parents give the biggest donation to this school, Sir," I snap back and Mr Clarkson jus hurries on his way."Who got on the wrong side of you today?" Dayton teases and I just roll my eyes at him.
"I would appreciate if you animals would get out of here now, I'm bored of all your BO, even you Grayson, me and my girls are in a deep convo if you don't mind," I instruct them and Grayson gives me his exaggerated puppy dogs eyes. It's hard to turn him away but this convo is essential.
