DAEHWI'S POV
Two days had passed since then. With the days passing by, my phone has been ringing continuously with both missed calls and unread messages.
I never bothered to take a hold of my device and respond to any of them with the fear of knowing the truth.
Knowing that maybe all of the memories we made together that I find genuine were just for show and that I was the only one who was naive and stupid all along.
The thought scared me.
Maybe it's even better to just run away and pretend nothing ever happened, but I knew that could never work.
Especially when I had already fallen for him so deeply that it's not even possible for me to forget him.
I was already at the bottom of the cliff.
"Sweetie?" A knock was heard, "Are you awake? It's almost time, you might get late."
With no hesitation, I immediately stood up from my bed and went straight to open the door, my mom welcoming me with a hug as soon as it opened.
"I was worried." I could only hug her back.
"Come and eat breakfast with us. It's been a long time since we've eaten together."
With a nod, I mumbled a soft 'okay' and went first to the bathroom to brush my teeth then went straight to the kitchen.
There my father, holding a daily newspaper, while my mom was making coffee and breakfast.
"Morning, Dad." I gave him a small peck on the forehead as he hummed in response and directly went to help my mom serve our breakfast.
As soon as me and my mom took a seat, my father immediately placed his newspaper aside.
"So how's your high school life doing? A few months left and you're graduating, ain't that exciting for you?" He asked while slowly filling his plate with rice.
My mom glanced at me and flashed me a small smile.
Oh she knows.
I smiled a little at her and faced my father, "It's doing fine, a little overwhelming to realize that I'm finally facing the true reality."
He let out a light chuckle, "That's great. It's finally time you take an independent path."
I looked down on my food, "I don't think I have the enough courage to take that path yet." I mumbled.
My eyes followed my father's hand as he sneaked it to give my right hand a light squeeze, "That's fine, son. Your mom and I are always here to support you until you're ready."
I slightly nodded as a response. And with that, we immediately changed the topic into my father's dad jokes, filling the house with laughters and chitchats.
For once, I was able to breathe freely without having to feel any heavy lump in my throat.
"You guys be safe, alright?" Our mom went to give both me and my dad a peck on the forehead, lending us our bentos.
"Yes, mom. We will." I chuckled.
"And oh, darling?" My dad raised a brow when he was called, "Don't forget to buy some eggs and milk before you get home."
