                               Sarah's POV

I walk inside my house and see my mom passed out on the couch. She works these crazy hours just to feed us! I love my mom, she's my hero! Hayes is really cute and all, but, I'm not allowed to have a boyfriend. My mom says I'm too young for a relationship. I totally agree, but Hayes seems really different ya know?

"Honey, are you ok? How was your first day?" apparently my mom woke up.

"It was good! Everyone looked at me weirdly but I didn't really pay attention to them haters!" I laughed.

"I heard you talking to yourself, you mentioned, a Hayes?" my mom interrogated.

"Oh, he's no one! Just a friend! Well, I should get started on my homework! Love you mommy!" I said as I ran upstairs into my room.

So apparently, Hayes lives across the street from me. I open my backpack, to try and find my binder filled with my homework. Then I realize that at this school, on the first day, there is no homework! I hear my phone buzz, it's Amanda, my best friend that I left back in New York. I answer my phone.

"Hey, girly!" I chirp excitedly.

"Hey, why do you sound so happy? It's the first day of school!" Amanda replies, laughing.

"Well if you must know, I met a REALLY cute guy! And I think he likes me!" I say, opening my door, leading to my balcony, staring at Hayes' house.

"Aw! That's too cute! But, you're not aloud to have any boyfriends. Did your mom finally loosen the reins?" Amanda interrogated.

"No, she thinks he's just a friend. I don't plan on going behind my mom's back and having a boyfriend anyways. You know I'd never do that!" I say.

"Haha, I forgot, you're the good girl and I'm the bad girl. Well, it's getting late, I'm gonna head to bed. I'll talk to you lates! Bye!" Amanda chirped into the phone before hanging up.

It's only 6:30pm, I know that because New York and North Carolina have the same time! Huh, maybe she's just hanging out with friends or something.

I check Google to see where the closest Taco Bell is, and I can't find anything!

I walk downstairs and say, "Mom, I'm going over to Hayes' house to ask him a question. He lives right across the street from us so it won't be dangerous, ok?"

"What's the question you're going to ask?" mom interrogated sternly.

"Where the nearest Taco Bell is." I say bluntly.

"Ok, be safe, honey!"

I quckly run across the street and knock on the big glass door. It opens, a small girl, wearing pink leggings and a pink horse shirt stands on the other side, smiling.

"Hi! Is Hayes here?" I ask smiling.

"Yeah, ok, hold on!" she replied shutting the door.

It re-opens, the same little girl stands there, but with a taller guy with the same, piercing blue eyes as Hayes.

"Uh, hi! What's up?" the guy asks.

"Um, I'm Hayes' friend, I was wondering if he's here. And if so, can I talk to him?" I ask.

"Oh, sorry, he's out with his girlfriend, Jordan. But, is it something you can ask me?" the guy asks. "I'm Nash, Hayes' older brother by the way!"

"Oh, well, I'm Sarah, I live across the street from you guys. And the question was, if you know where the nearest Taco Bell is?"
