She sat there, crouched, hiding, silent. She hid from her, from the witch. She watched her... Her every move. She had waited months for this.
A few months ago Casey had started studying the witch. She rarely ever went outside. The witch had pale skin, purple eyes, and death black hair. The witch seemed deadly at times... But at others.. there was a light inside her.. a good one. Casey felt the witch was just missing something. She had good in her.. she just couldn't find it.
Casey crouched behind a bush behind her house. She planned on speaking to the witch soon, but not yet. She was waiting until she was in a good mood.
A rustle... A movement... A Creature... Was it the wind? Was it the witch? Or was it her cat..? The witch had a pitch black cat with a light grey patch on the stomache. It's name was Salem. Casey only saw her in the window unless she was let outside. Casey always came when the cat was inside, but today she was let out. She could hear the cat... But could not see it. Casey's heart was racing. She realized that she had no chance. The cat could find her, a d turn her in. The witch would hate her, curse her even.. possibly. She needed to approach the witch now, before her luck ran out.
Casey heard the creature approaching closer. She slowly stood up. She took one last look at the witches house. She walked up to the door and knocked. She waited for a few minutes. Nothing. She knocked again. Nothing. She was about to give up and walk away when the door opened a crack. Casey saw a single purple eye looking back at her.
"G-Go away," a voice said, the witches voice. The witch began to close the door slowly when Casey grabbed it. She looked deep into the eye with desperation.
"Please... I need help.. I need to find my parents. I... I heard you could help me," Casey pleaded. The witch looked surprised, refused.
"Please ma'am. I need help. My parents were so very important to me. I need to find them. You're my only hope."
"I...," The witch said as a tear ran down her face. "I.. I too lost someone very important to me... Why should I help you? Why should you get to feel the joy of seeing the ones you love when other feel such pain?"
"I.. I'm sorry... You're right. I..." Casey felt horrible and started to walk away.
"Wait..." The witch said. Casey turned around to see the broken witch opening the door for her. "That was selfish of me... No one should have to go through the pain of what I'm feeling. Please.. come in."

"How old were you when you lost your parents?" The witch asked. She and Casey were sitting in her Living room. Salem, the cat, was sitting on Casey's lap. They both had cups of herbal tea. Casey noticed the witch was older than she expected, but she looked quite young.
"Um.. seven..," Casey answered.
"Oh what a young age... Awful. Do you know why?"
"Well... I don't know much but when I was seven my brother and I had been awoken by a man yelling downstairs. We went to go see who and it was a man, a scary man. He was with two other scary men, but they were much smaller. They said they were from the bandit guild and my parents owed them a large sum of money. They didn't have the money so.. we ran away. We lived in the woods. My brother and I had a hiding tree in case they found us. They did find us. My brother and I got away and my parents were captured."
"Well what happened after that?"
Casey told the witch everything leading up to that moment.
"So... Do you know anything?" Casey asked. The witch looked down at the floor.
"I.. I don't know," She admitted."What do you mean?"
"I just, I need to do research but I'll try."
"Thank you miss," Casey said as she hugged her. The witch looked at her, "Please, call me Morina."
