Ronnie's POV:
As I walked down the fire-lit hallways, I began to grow more and more scared. Thoughts were racing through my head. About what the Alpha was going to do to me. About how she was going to torture me before she'd kill me. But, most of all, about Craig. Would she make him watch? Was she going to kill him alongside me? When I had reached the door to what I'm guessing was the Alpha's chamber, I heard her voice.
"Come in." she said, harshly. Before I could think, I was shoved into the room by the Lyken who had followed close behind. "You may leave, Lucas." Shortly after, I heard the door close.
"I-" I began, only to have been cut off by an even harsher tone.
"SILENCE!" she said. I was beginning to shake in fear. "Had you any idea that your coven would attack early, vampire?"
"N-no, ma'am. I-"
"You should have known! However, your efforts have not gone unnoticed." I just stood there, confused as she said this. "My son, the Alpha of the Northern pack, he was readying his army the moment he caught wind of the attack that was to take place. He is, much to your efforts, still alive. Although, his loyal friend was killed when your coven attempted to turn her." I raised an eyebrow in confusion. "As it seems, a vampire bite can kill a Lyken."
"I-I had no idea. I-" she raised a hand to silence me.
"How were you to know, vampire? I shall allow you to live, Ronnie. However, if you so much as think of reporting back to your queen, I, personally, will gouge your eyes out and shove them down your throat, only so you may watch my jaws tear through your intestines. Is this clear?"
I gulped as she spoke. "Yes, ma'am."
"Good. You may leave. Breakfast is being put on the table. Lucas will escort you and your friend, Craig into the dining room."
"Thank you." I turned and walked out. As I and Lucas walked back to the bedroom, I couldn't hold back a sigh of relief. I could still protect Craig if needed. But, most importantly, Craig wasn't going to die at the hands of the wolves.
