It was almost midnight, and you still hadn't arrived. The silence stretched thin, filling the room with an eerie weight. I tried calling your phone, the ringing sound a futile echo in the stillness, but you didn't answer. Maybe you were busy, I thought, trying to reason with the growing unease in my chest. But work hours were long over—what could possibly be keeping you?

I reached out to your parents, hoping they might know something, anything, to quell my worry. But their response was the same—a soft, apologetic, "We don't know where he is."

And there I was, staring at the clock as the hands crept forward, my mind racing through possibilities I didn't want to entertain. Where were you? And why did it feel like something was just... wrong?
