Walking into school the next morning my back felt much better, I still had to take Advil but I was able to move sharply without too much pain. Closing my locker, I turned to go to English when I hear someone say "Hi" startled I whirl around to see Madylin. Shocked that someone was talking to me and not in a negative way, I basically tucked tail and ran (as fast as I could) to class.

Sitting in class half listening to Ms. Lucas talk I thought back over what happened in the hallway. Confused as why Mady would be talking to me when she hasn't before, in fact none of them talked or interacted with anyone outside of the their little group. So why me? I didn't even bother to look up when Ms. Lucas called for our reports to be passed up, I didn't have it, I gave it to Micah yesterday in the library.

I just hope he turned it in because I didn't save it to a flash drive like I normally would have. The bell rings signaling the end of class and I wait a bit before walking to my next class to try and avoid the crush of students plus some of the insults. Stepping out into the hall I walk toward my second period class when I am flanked by two people.

Looking up I saw that it was Madylin and her friend Olivia Anders, freaked out I stopped short. Not sure what is going on. They notice I stopped walking and frown at me before each grabbing an arm, pulling me with them through the hallway. No matter what I do I can't get free from their grasps. Starting to panic about being trapped, they eventually let go of my arms, but that could have been because we had reached my second period. They waved good bye as they walk off.

The same thing happened walking to third, I step into the hallway and there Olivia and Madylin are walking me to my next class. This time not grabbing me simply flanking me like two body guards would their protectee. Walking to fourth it was just Madylin and fifth was just Olivia. By the time it came for lunch I was extremely confused as to what they were doing. I end up leaving fifth period early and just went to the library instead of the cafeteria.

I don't have money for lunch today, plus I wanted to get some homework done. It is half way through the lunch period when a shadow lands on me as I am hunched over a table doing my Calculus homework. Not caring at this point I don't look up as I work to finish the problem I am on.

Once I finish I set down the pencil I am using and look up. When I do I see Micah watching at me with concern on his face. Not sure what that is for I decide to ignore it as I put away my math and take out my history work. As I am going to start on that my pencil is snatched from the table. This boy irritates me. Why doesn't he want me to do my work? I ask myself. "Why aren't you eating...again?" He asks me, for once without our game of 'who will talk first'. I find that I miss it. Weird. "Forgot my money," is my reply and I did right next to my keys of my nonexistent car.

"You said that yesterday," Micah responds, anger starting to leak into his voice. "What can I say, I'm forgetful." I say full of sass irritated that he is once again in the way of me doing my work. He chuckles slightly, "I doubt that." With that he stomps off taking my pencil with him. Bewildered and angry now that he has taken my only pencil, tears leak into my eyes as I wipe them away. Why can't he leave me alone, he is screwing everything up.

There is a system in place in this hell hole and yeah it sucked but at least I knew what it was and what to expect. I don't know what to do with all this protection and concern about my well being and sh*t or how to make it stop. Or even if that is what I really want. I do know that once Micah and his friends get what ever it is that they want from me it is going to be really hard to go back to the way things were.

Even if they have only been doing this for one day it has been nice to not get verbally accosted between each class or get tripped or pushed either. For my last two periods Maddy or Olivia are there to ferry me to my next class, then to my locker at the end of the school day. Once I am outside the building I am given a "see you tomorrow" as they walked off together toward the student parking lot where I am sure their car was located. School was almost present today.

That scared me.

I am of the mind that when something is going well, the other shoe will drop...hard.

**Author's Note**

I am sorry this chapter is so short but it is just a filler chapter. Next chapter will be good, maybe I will even change up the point of view.
