I looked at my phone and saw I got a text from Ethan

»I got the perfect place....how about the Shakespeare café?« I smiled.

Isabella POV

I sat in the living room awaiting my date as I sat i scribbled a doodle on the side of some junk mail, "when is he coming?" I sighed "he said he'd pick you up at five right?" jess said walking in and sitting beside me. " I told you to stay upstairs-" " yeah yeah I know," she rolled her eyes "but you've been crushing on Ethan for as long as I can remember and being the awesome friend I am I'm sitting with you until he comes plus it's only 5:04."

I was about to say something when the door bell rang. "ahh quick what do I do?" I said running to the door "just play it cool." jess said slowly as she walked to the door   I tried to play it cool by fake reading a magazine that was laying on the coffee table "hey izzy," Ethan walked in "hey Ethan I wasn't expecting you..." I stood up to face Ethan, he looked slightly confused I looked back and saw jess faceplam her face.

"really I thought we had a date?" he smiled slightly it had just occurred to me what I said "oh what I meat to say is-....well I...never mind." I blushed "should we go?" he asked giving me his arm "sure." I smiled hooking my arm with his "have fun." jess winked.

As we drove to the cafe I started patting my legs to try and drown out the silence in the car "Sooo..." "so?" he answered while still looking at the road "it's- ...nothing." I looked away nervously "tell me." he whined as we stopped at a red light "its just....you never really talked to me that much and NOW...I don't know?" "look you seemed like the exact opposite from your sister," I looked at him "oh no not that there's anything wrong with that you just seemed more...down to earth and easy to talk to." he said with a genuine smile that made my heart melt.

after that conversation we to a place called Shakespeare café and I gotta tell you the guys that made the food names must have really got into their work I was practically laughing at the food choices from 'a midsummer's night early tea' to 'The Hamlet omelet' and my personal favorite one of the desserts was 'to be or not to be' death by chocolate lava cake.

"hey izzy.."  "yeah?" I said before stuffing my face with the lava cake "there was another reason I wanted to ask you," he said as he took my hand "would you like to go to this with me?" he had two sliver tickets of the Verona private Halloween gala for this weekend "i would love to" I started "great." he smiled showing his pearly whites "but..." "but?" "i can't go." I pulled my hand away "why? is it because Juliana?" "no it's just non-private students can't attend these kinds of things," "they won't know-" "i think they WILL know Ethan because what people tend to forget is that my stepmother is the chairman of the school and she WILL be at the dance meaning she will catch me!" I whisper shouted. 'oh no I'm freaking out IN FRONT OF ETHAN...that's even worse he must think I'm crazy right now' I thought 

"trust me-" he started then he stared at me , well at least that's what I thought until I looked behind me to see Juliana with ryan. I still couldn't believe they are together now...I'm mean I've only known Ryan for a short time but I'm certain he could do better than Juliana.

I turned back around sensing Juliana's glare on my back as she walked to our table "ryan honey why don't younger the two of us something to drink," she faked a smile as he walked to the counter "well well look who I we have here," she said with a snide tone obviously directed at me "izzy I never would have guessed you would like sloppy seconds, but you've proven me wrong." "you know what-" ethan stood from his chair "oh looky what we have here." she said as she snatched the silver tickets out of my hand.

I watched as she examined them "i don't know why you bought two tickets when your obviously going by yourself Ethan," she sighed and turned to him "it's just pathetic unless it's for me in which case I'm not that interested anymore." she slapped the tickets on the table

"don't flatter yourself I got these tickets for izzy and I to go as a couple," juliana seemed stunned which then turned to shock as Ethan walked over holding his hand out which I looked from his hand to juliana's expression and opted for his hand after he helped me up from my chair he did something that shocked both Juliana and myself...he kissed my cheek.

we left the cafe before Juliana had a chance to ring my neck.

as soon as we arrived at my house he turned to me "im sorry I didn't know she was going to be there ." "no it's ok really." I smiled "no it's not let me make it up to you." "how?" before I knew what was happening he leaned closer , I didn't know what to do so I leaned in too.

just as our lips were literally inches from each other an abrupt banging coming from my passenger window which scared us both  followed along by a light which I assumed to be a flash light  "get your a$$ out of the car." I sighed inwardly knowing whose voice it belonged to Ethan unlocked the doors as I was about to say sorry but Melissa pulled me out of the door suddenly and almost dragged into the house.

" So you think your all that now because you got a guy to ask you out now huh." "No no..I'm not sure what you're talking about." I said as I tried putting the ticket somewhere in my pocket where it wasn't too obvious "oh don't play dumb Isabella...what is that?" 'oh crap she saw'

she started walking over to me her heels were clacking against the ground "nothing," i said quickly moving my hands from when the ticket was.

"i know you're lying," she looked down and saw a corner of metallic and held her hand up to me, I sighed as I dug into my pocket and put in her hand what once was a golden opportunity now a shattered dream. "you know, Juliana told me you had a thing for Ethan ever since she's been with him I never would have guessed YOU would get him to ask you out so suddenly after their separation," she chuckled turning towards the stairs once she was half way up she spoke again "i never would have thought you would care about some boy more than your sisters feelings sometimes you're just so...selfish, and as punishment for your selfishness I will personally make sure you never get into this." she said sternly as she held up the ticket "please don't," I sadness present in my voice as she started ripping it to shreds they fell to the ground like snow "have a goodnight sleep," she turned back to me with a wicked gleam presents in her eyes "oh...and don't forget to clean this mess up." she laughed as she ascended the rest of the stairs and went into her room. I slowly walked over to the invitation, which now was just scraps of paper on the ground.

after I cleaned up the scraps of paper I ran upstairs and collapsed onto my bed letting tears fall free from my now tired eyes buzzzzzz buzz

"hello?"

"izzy how did it go?" jess said hopefully"i want juicy details

"it was great until..." I sniffed

"what did that witch do now?"

after I told her about how Ethan asked me to go to the gala with him, seeing Juliana and Ryan, almost kissing Ethan and being dragged out of his car by Melissa then being called selfish and having the invitation ripped up before my eyes I'm sure jess was fuming....correction she was TOTALLY fuming after I said that she started cursing Melissa and Juliana's name and thinking of plans for us to get into the gala I just sat there "we are so getting into that party no matter what it takes....hey come outside."
