                    ~ PROcedure ~
Tunde,Oscar,Chigozie,Isaac and Stanley are close friends. They call themselves "The Zealous Gang". Isaac was know as the money bag of the gang,because he was the only one born with a silver spoon. Mr Subowale is Isaac's multimillionaire father. Isaac has high hopes of inheriting his father's meat processing company but his father thinks Isaac doesn't have what it takes to inherit and run the company. Mr Subowale once threatened to hand over the company to Isaac's junior sister. Over the years,Isaac worked hard to please his father and as a result,he increased the company's gross profit. Mr Subowale was proud of Isaac and decided to hand over the company to him in his will. Isaac decided to have a private party at his father's house to celebrate his inheritance of the company,so he invited only his four close friends.  Tunde,Oscar,Chigozie and Stanley arrived at the party to celebrate with Isaac. Isaac's father was also present at the party. As music was playing at the background,everyone at the party took turns to congratulate Isaac. When it came to the turn of Isaac's father to congratulate his son, he decided to have a toast. He ordered the maid to bring the most expensive wine in his private bar. The maid then poured the wine into five wine cups and served Isaac and his friends. Oscar noticed that the maid did not give any wine cup to Isaac's father and thought maybe the maid forgot to serve him. Mr Subowale stood up and said
      "I know it's going to be awkward doing a toast to my son without wine in my hands but that's because the doctor said I can't drink anything apart from water for the sake of my health. Nevertheless,I will still give honour to my son for his dedication and hardwork. So I have decided to hand over the company to him in my will.Thank you all for coming"                                  
Isaac and his friends clapped for Mr Subowale as he finished his toast. Chigozie's phone started to ring. The caller turned out to be his girlfriend. He answered the call but could not hear what she was saying over the phone because of the music. He dropped the wine and excused himself from the party to go outside in order for him to hear his girlfriend clearly over the phone. The call disconnected as he stepped outside. He tried calling her back but there was no network outside. He tried several time but still no network. After sometime,he decided to go back inside to continue the party. When he got inside,he noticed something odd. Inside was very quiet. There was no music. He walked into the living room where the party was going on . There was no one there. His friends and Mr Subowale were no where to be found. He looked around and saw no one. Suddenly,he heard someone's voice . He recognized the voice. It was the voice of Oscar. He realised that the voice was coming from upstairs. Quietly,he climbed the stairs in order to locate the voice. When he got upstairs, he saw an elevator at the end of the corridor. An elevator in a two storey building was strange and there was no sign of any elevator downstairs. Chigozie said to himself
     "An elevator in this house? The way rich people build their house baffles me. I wonder where this elevator lead to. Maybe that's where my friends are"
   He moved towards the elevator and entered it. There was only one button in the elevator. Without hesitation, Chigozie pressed the button. The elevator started to move downwards. It was then Chigozie realised that the elevator was taking him underground. After sometime,the elevator stopped and opened. Chigozie step out of the elevator and entered into an underground facility. He looked around and saw meat hooks, a meat cutting machine and a lot of huge gas cylinders . It was then he realised that he was standing in an underground abattoir. There was a green door located at the end of the abattoir. He walked slowly to the door and opened it quietly. What he saw made him shiver with fear. He saw  Tunde,Oscar and Stanley each strapped to a pillar. Their eyes were closed as if they were sleeping. He then saw Isaac talking to Mr Subowale. He looked around and saw six men dressed in blue overall with their faces covered with surgical face mask. Chigozie heart pumped hard against his chest as he hid and watched behind one of the huge gas cylinders. Mr Subowale then said
      "I want to congratulate everyone here in advance because what we are about to do will change the course of history. It will put our names in the history books. With this procedure we are about to carry out,we are going to be able to tackle the problem of overpopulation and at the same time solve the problem of food scarcity and global hunger. I also want us to thank my son for his courage and selfless attitude because he was able to sacrifice his close friends for a greater purpose. So gentleman,let us begin the procedure"
     After his speech,Mr Subowale and Isaac wore a surgical face mask and put on a blue overall. After putting on the overall and the surgical mask,Isaac said
    "Due to the failure of the Project Tuber Experiment,we learned the tongue is responsible for the unwanted result . This time around we want to produce something more consumable and also nearer to the scientific kingdom of the homo sapien. "
    Isaac picked up a sharp scalpel and a surgical retractor. He walked towards Oscar and used the surgical retractor to pull out Oscar's tongue. Swiftly,he used the scalpel to cut off the tongue and tossed it into a nearby bowl. Isaac then did the same terrifying act to Tunde and Stanley. One of the men opened a box and brought out three strange looking syringes. He moved towards Oscar,Tunde and Stanley and injected them with the syringes. Mr Subowale,Isaac and the men  moved away from Oscar,Tunde and Stanley . Still hiding behind the huge gas cylinders, Chigozie watched in terror. All of a sudden, Oscar, Tunde and Stanley started to vibrate violently like as if they were having seizures. Immediately,hair started to grow on their skin at an alarming rate. Their bones began to make strange cracking sounds like as if their bones were breaking. Suddenly, Oscar,Tunde and Stanley transformed into  familiar living beings. They transformed into goats. Isaac  turned to his father and said with a smile on his face
    "Daddy,daddy, it worked. It really worked. The experiment is a success. The company will not have to solely rely on available livestock but on livestock we make from forgotten people. We are going to be rich"
   Mr Subowale said with tears in his eyes
  "I am proud of you Isaac. You are really my son. Assuming that your other friend did not go home,we would have used him to test the cow serum.Nevertheless, I am very proud of you"
   Isaac then said
      " Dad thank you for your support. It's a shame Chigozie left the party early. I thought he just wanted to receive a call outside but he left without saying goodbye. Don't worry I will cajole him to come or find another specimen for the procedure"
      Mr Subowale ordered one of the men to take the three goats to the slaughtering chamber to prep the goats for the butcher. The man took the goats into a small room. Minutes later,the man came out with an Ipad in his hands and said to Mr Subowale
       "I got notification from the control room that there is an intruder in the facility. The heat sensor is picking up another person's heat signature behind one of the gas cylinders. "
   After hearing what the man said,Chigozie moved back in fear and accidentally stepped on one of the pipes connected to the gas cylinder. The pipe broke and gas started to leak out. Isaac was surprised when he saw Chigozie. Mr Subowale said to the men with a loud voice
      " Catch him before he gets to the elevator because that's the only way out of here. He must have seen the procedure. He must not escape because if he does,he will reveal our secret to everyone. After you catch him,bring him to me,so that we can test the cow serum!!!"
     Chigozie took to his heels after hearing the words of Mr Subowale. The men ran after Chigozie. Chigozie used all his energy to run very fast so that the men won't catch up with him. His heels were almost touching the back of his head. He got the elevator and pressed the button repeatedly. The elevator closed and started to move upwards. Chigozie's heart was pounding profusely against his chest.
As soon as the elevator stopped and opened,Chigozie jumped out of the elevator and ran downstairs. He moved outside and ran towards his car. He entered into the car in a quick manner,closed the car door and started the car. The car refused to start at the first trial but started after the third trial. The gate was locked but that did not stop Chigozie from ramming his car into the gate in an attempt to force the gate open. The attempt was successful. Chigozie increased the speed of the car as he drove through the damaged gate and found his way to a major road. After some minutes of driving,Chigozie started to feel dizzy. He began to have blurry vision; he could not see properly. He could not feel his hands anymore. Chigozie then realized what what was causing him to lose consciousness. It was the gas he inhaled in the underground facility. Suddenly,a car hit Chigozie's car from behind. Chigozie lost control of the steering wheel and crashed into a nearby tree.   
Three days later, Chigozie woke up in the hospital. His girlfriend and mother were sitting next to him. His mom and his girlfriend were so happy when he woke up. His mother said
      "A good Samaritan brought you here and found my number when he checked your phone. Thank God for your life. You like sleep oh.. You have been sleeping for three days"
   His girlfriend then said with tears of joy
         "Chigobabe don't scare me like this again. I really thought I lost you when I heard over the news that Mr Subowale's house exploded because of gas leakage. I was so terrified but less scared when I heard from your mom that you left the party early but was involved in a car accident"
   In a solemn tone,Chigozie asked
      "Why did I go to Mr Subowale's house? What was I doing there?"
      His Mother replied
    " You went to Mr Subowale's house to celebrate Isaac's inheritance of the company. May their soul rest in peace. Can't you remember?"
   Chigozie then said
      "That's strange because I can't remember me going to Mr Subowale's house. I just remember that I was going somewhere with my car but I can't remember where I was going to. After that,I can't remember anything apart from me waking up here. I can't even recall anything about the accident or the party. "
    His girlfriend said
         "No problem,the most important thing is that you are alive. Thank God for your life. Another important thing is that I love you"
       Chigozie's mother and girlfriend then walked towards him and hugged him.
