One of the worst feeling is knowing the truth but no matter how hard you try to reveal it,people don't seem to believe you because believing in your truth is almost the same thing as believing a fairytale. Mr Adebanjo is known for his far fetched stories. He is a very old man;the oldest man in his place of work. Although, he retired years ago,he still comes to the office to chat with everyone. Everyone in the office loves his company because they like to listen to his cock and bull stories and his out of the world life experiences. Today was no exception as he came to the office with his walking stick in his right hand. Everyone greeted him and returned to do their various work. He sat down on his special chair and said
You won't believe what just happened to me while I was preparing to come here.

My dear, Turugura is not an english word. Turuguras are creatures of darkness that live in trees. They tend to hibernate within trees for a long time and only come out of hibernation when they want to feed on the scalp of virgins and old people. I was surprised when I saw two Turuguras coming out of the tree in my backyard.
Rita laughed uncontrollably and said
Wow, that was pretty scary. Thank God, things like that don't exist in real life.
Mr Adebanjo nodded his head in disappointment and said

One of the workers said

Everyone laughed as they carry on with their various work. Mr Adebanjo ignored them and continued to share his weird life experiences.
After closing hours, everyone retired for the day to their various houses. Rita offered to drive Mr Adebanjo to his house. Mr Adebanjos house is four street away from Ritas house. As expected, there was traffic jam on their way home. Rita sighed and said

After some hours,Rita arrived at Mr Adebanjos house. He came out of the car and thanked. As soon as Mr Adebanjo entered his house,Rita ignited her car engine and drove off. When Rita got home,she prepared indomie noodles. She prefers indomie to other noodles because of the taste;the taste is the difference,the difference is the taste. After eating,she crawled to her bed,set her alarm and slept off. As soon as the alarm went off,she woke up. She found her way to the bathroom,brushed her teeth and had her bath. After bathing,she dressed up. She wore a pink gown and applied make up. She checked her time and realised that it was 8AM on the dot. She closed her door,entered her car and zoomed out of the compound. After driving for two and half hours,she arrived at the hospital. Her cousin was already waiting for her. After signing some papers,her cousin was discharged. The drive back home was awkwardly quiet. When they got to Ritas apartment,Rita showed her cousin the room prepared for her. She then told her cousin to eat anything she want from the fridge. After making her cousin comfortable,Rita left the house for work. Work was boring as usual but thank God for Mr Adebanjos stories. After closing hours,Mr Adebanjo asked Rita
I forgot to ask,what about your cousin?
Rita smiled and answered
She is fine. She is at my house. Thank you for your concern.
Mr Adebanjo nodded and said
Ok. That nice to hear.
Rita then asked
Sir,do you need a ride home?

When Rita got home,she was surprised at what her cousin did to her apartment. The tiles were shining. The kitchen was spotless. The toilet and bathtub were sparklingly clean. No cobwebs in the living room. Her cousin cleaned the apartment thoroughly. Rita said with joy

Rita dropped her plate in the kitchen sink and walked to her bedroom. She fell asleep almost immediately. As soon as it was 7AM,her alarm started to ring. She ignored it and continued to sleep.Suddenly,something grabbed Ritas left leg and yanked it. Rita woke up immediately. She opened her eyes to see what grabbed her leg. She could not see properly because it was dark. She squinted her eyes to see what was responsible. She managed to see two red eyes looking at her. She screamed with a loud voice. The creature with the red eye stretched forth it's hand to cover her mouth to prevent her from screaming. She tried to bite the hand but her effort was futile. The creature said
Why are you screaming? Why are you screaming? You better wake up and go to work.
The voice was familiar. It was the voice of her cousin. Rita removed the hand of cousin from her mouth and hissed. She stood up from the bed and switched on the light. Rita was very angry. With an angry tone,Rita said
What the fuck is wrong with you? Why did you scare me like that? What are you doing in my room? Why is your eyes red like that?
Her cousin replied
How did I scare you? Your alarm was disturbing me,so I decided to wake you up. My eyes is red because I find it difficult to sleep at night. I have night terrors.

Ritas phone started to ring. She picked up her phone to see the caller. It was the hospital. As she answered the call,her cousin left the room. After answering the call,Rita prepared to go to work. As she was leaving for work,she said to her cousin
A nurse from the hospital called. She said someone came to the hospital looking for you. The person identified as one of your friends from your previous workplace.

It was Ritas voice. She removed the rope from her wrist and stood up from the bed. She walked to the main door and opened it for Rita. Rita entered the house with an elderly looking man. Rita said as she entered
I tried calling your number but it was switched off. I can see from your face that you were sleeping.
Her cousin nodded her head. Rita then said
This is Mr Adebanjo. I told you about him.
Her cousin knelt down to greet Mr Adebanjo. Mr Adebanjo smiled and said

Rita told Mr Adebanjo to sit. She went to the kitchen to get chilled fruit juice for Mr Adebanjo. Mr Adebanjo poured the juice into a glass cup and said

Ritas cousin did not like the presence of the man so she decided to excuse herself. As she was about to leave,Rita said
Where are you going? Mr Adebanjo came to speak to you personally and you are leaving. Come back here and tell him your story.
Her cousin turned around in anger and said

I was lucky. Wait,I think Rita paid you to do this.

Maybe she paid you to lie to me. Paid you to pretend to believe me and tell me lies about this Jecur rubbish.

Why will I do that? I just love watching two of you chat about this things only both of you have experienced. It is a golden experience.

Suddenly,rain started to fall. Mr Adebanjo checked the time and realised it was getting late. The rain was very heavy. He could not enter the rain and it was getting dark. Rita then said to Mr Adebanjo

As they were eating,they heard the dogs barking. The ignored the barking and continued to enjoy their dinner. The barking of the dogs intensified. Rita said admist eating
I wonder what is making those stupid dogs to bark. They are disturbing the neighborhood.
Ritas cousin then said
They are not stupid. Maybe they don't like the rain.
Suddenly the dogs stopped barking. Rita sighed and said
Finally,there is peace.
As Mr Adebanjo was about to talk, someone started to scream. Rita was startled by the scream that she dropped her spoon on the floor. Mr Adebanjo asked
Who is screaming like that?
Rita picked up her phone from the table and said
I think it is one of the neighbors living downstairs. Let me call the security guard.
She dialled the number of the security guard severally but there was no response. As she was about to dial the number for the seventh time,her second phone started to ring. She checked the caller ID and realised that it was one of the neighbors. She answered the call. The caller said
Rita,did you hear Mr Ibrahim screaming? Do you know what is going on?
Rita answered
I heard it too. I don't know what is happening. I tried to call Yusuf but he is not picking. Dami,just lock your doors and close your windows.
The caller said
All my doors and windows are closed. As I was closing my windows,the light bulbs of Mr and Mrs Olubunmi suddenly went off. The apartment was very quiet which is strange because their children just came back from boarding school. So there is suppose to be noise from that apartment.
Rita sighed and said
Maybe they are not around. Maybe they traveled.
Suddenly the caller screamed. Rita said as she heard Dami scream through the phone
Dami,what is happening? Why are you screaming?

Ri..rita,there is something standing outside near my window. I can see the reflection.

Mr Adebanjo told her to keep quiet. Their stomachs were also ripped open. Rita said with a shaky voice
Let's go to Damis apartment.
They walked quietly to Damis apartment. As they were about to enter,the light bulbs near Mr Olubunmi house suddenly switched on. The light illuminated the compound. Rita and cousin screamed when they saw what was on the doorstep of Damis apartment. It was the head of a child. Rita said stammering

Rita was about to vomit,when they heard Damis voice. They passed over the head and entered into the apartment slowly. As soon as they entered the apartment,they saw Dami on the floor. There was a huge hole in her stomach;her internal organs were visible. The floor was designed with Damis blood. Rita vomited as she saw Damis body. Dami opened her eyes and said

Suddenly,the skin of the old woman and the lady turned dark;dark like charcoal. Their eyes fused into a giant eye centrally located on their faces. They developed sharp razor-like teeth. Fear gripped Rita like never before. She screamed and shouted in fear. Kemi said to Rita
I told you but you did not believe me. Now you can see for yourself.
Rita heartbeat increased drastically. She said with a shaky voice
I think I am about to faint. Oh my God,it's true. This can't be happening.
Mr Adebanjo twisted the handle of his walking stick and brought out a thin sharp looking dagger from the walking stick. Rita exclaimed and said
Oh my God,it is actually true. He really has a dagger in his walking stick.
The old woman said
Tolani,kill the girls. I will handle the Jägerin.
The old woman jumped and use her sharp claws to attack Mr Adebanjo. Mr Adebanjo defended himself by using the dagger to block the attack. Tolani moved towards the girl with the axe in her hand. Kemi pointed the gun to Tolani and pressed the trigger but nothing happened. Tolani laughed and said
The guns safety is still on sweetheart. Is this your first time of using a gun because it will definitely be your last.
Rita threw the knife in her hand at Tolani and missed her target. Tolani smiled again and said
Really,are you guys for real? How did you manage to kill my dad? I am highly disappointed.
The old woman and Mr Adebanjo were still fighting each other. Tolani said
Let me teach you how to throw a weapon.
She then threw the axe at Rita and successfully chopped off Ritas left arm and hand. Blood oozed out of Ritas shoulder. Rita cried in pain as she saw her hand dropped to the ground. Kemi removed the guns safety and started to shoot at Tolani but failed to hit her because she was too fast. Tolani dodged the bullets fired at her and slapped the gun away from Kemis hand. She held Kemis neck and said
I am going to enjoy this.
Suddenly,the old woman screamed. Tolani turned back and saw Mr Adebanjo stabbing the old womans neck repeatedly. Tolani shouted
Mum! Leave my mother alone!!
She dropped Kemi and ran towards Mr Adebanjo. Mr Adebanjo tried to remove the dagger from the woman's throat but the dagger was stuck. Tolani used this opportunity to slice open Mr Adebanjos throat. Rita and Kemi watched in horror as Mr Adebanjos body dropped to the ground. Tolanis body turned back to normal as she knelt near the body of her mother. She began to cry. With tears,she said
You killed my dad and now,you took my mum away from me. You are going to pay. After I kill you,I will track down every of your family members and killed them. I will make their death painful and brutal.
Tolani skin started to turn black and her eyes started to fuse. Kemi ran towards Tolani with full speed and emptied the last four bullets into Tolanis head before she could transform completely. Tolani fell to the ground. Rita asked in pain
Is she dead?
Kemi turned to face Rita and said
I think so. She is not moving. You are losing a lot of blood.
Suddenly,Tolani stood up behind Kemi. Rita shouted
Kemi,behind you!
Kemi ran forward without hesitating. Rita tossed the axe to Kemi with her right hand. Tolani jumped in an attempt to attack Kemi with her claws. Kemi caught the axe,turned around and swung the axe in an attempt to attack Tolani. The axe declawed Tolani. Tolani shouted in anger
My claws! What have you done?
Kemi replied
I think you should be more worried about your head,bitch.
Before Tolani could attack,Kemi swung the axe with all her might and decapitated Tolani. Tolanis headless body fell to the ground. Rita said to Kemi
Wow,remind me never to get on bad side. I feel weak.
Kemi dropped the axe and ran to support Rita. Kemi removed her blouse to stop the bleeding. Kemi asked Rita
What are we going to do? What are we going to tell the police?
Rita struggled as she said
The police will not believe the Jecur part of the story.So,we will just tell them that we were attacked by two crazy people. I need to go to the hospital.
Suddenly,Mr Adebanjo started to cough out blood. Rita and Kemi walked towards his body. He was bleeding from the throat. Kemi knelt down to sit him up. He opened his eyes and said
Wow,you killed another Jecur Comendenti. You are special indeed. Genetically,you may not be a Jägerin but deep down in your soul,you are a Jägerin. You are a slayer. That's why I am passing down my mantle to you.Go to the library in my house and learn more. Be a better slayer.
Mr Adebanjo managed to grab his dagger and walking stick. He then gave it to Kemi. Kemi accepted it with tears in her eyes. Mr Adebanjo turned to Rita and said
Rita,descendant of Thomas. Are you still doubting my stories?
Rita said with tears
No,I believe every last one of your stories. Mr Adebanjo,save your strength until we get you to the hospital.
Mr Adebanjo managed to smile and said
I believe this is the end of the road for me. I think it's time to say goodbye. Kemi,make me proud.
After talking,Mr Adebanjo gave up the ghost. Suddenly,his body faded into thin air. Rita said with tears
I will miss him. Kemi,I can't feel my legs. I am seeing double.
Kemi inserted the dagger into the walking stick,stood up and supported Rita. She managed to carry Rita into the car and drove off to the nearest hospital. As soon as Rita entered the hospital,she fainted
A week later,Rita woke up from coma. She looked around and saw Kemi sitting beside her sick bed. Kemi was so happy to see Rita awake. Kemi smiled and said
Rita,thank God you are conscious.
Rita looked around and jumped up when she realised that she had no left hand. She looked at Kemi and said
I can still feel it. It's like my left hand is still there but I can't reach it.

The doctor said it is called phantom limb. It happens to almost all amputees. Don't worry about it.

What about the police? What did you tell them?
Kemi replied
I told them the truth apart from the Jecur part. They found the body of Mr Ibrahim hacked into pieces. They also found the bodies of Mr and Mrs Olubunmi in the bathtub. The headless body of their daughter was also discovered. It was a tragedy. Deep down,I think I am responsible for their deaths. I am the reason Tolani came to the house.
Rita said
It is not your fault. Don't try to take the blame. I wonder how Tolani got our address.
Kemi then said
The call you received early in the morning on that day was not from the hospital. The hospital said that someone came to collect your number. Tolani tracked your phone when you received that call.
The police wants your statement as soon as possible. I could not go back to the house.

Not really. I slept for four days in Mr Adebanjos house. I asked around and they directed me to his house. I was curious to use the library in the house so I jumped over the fence and broke into his house. I saw and read a lot of strange books about different creatures. I felt comfortable,so I slept there. Do you know that in ancient Madagascar there is a ceremony in which people eat baby legs to be very fast when sprinting and extremely fit for sports. Creepy right?
Rita smiled and said

Kemi picked up the walking stick and said
