I started school that Monday. It was difficult. I mean let’s get the facts straight. I had just moved from New Jersey to California, that’s about 3000 miles away if you didn’t know that already. I have left every single one of my friends behind. My boyfriend was forbidden to see me by his management team. Oh, and then he broke up with me over national television. Which cause about a million girls to send me hate tweets on twitter. Yeah, my life was looking pretty amazing right now. Man, I bet you wish you were me. Not.

I walked in to school that Monday morning with my new schedule in hand. I mean I didn’t know where I was going. I knew none of these kids and I was basically just waiting for some crazy fan girl to recognize me. Thankfully, Jackson gave me his hat to wear and I was capable of keeping my head down most of the time. I didn’t want people to recognize me. I mean I don’t need more crap at school. I just want to be the new girl. Not the new girl who date Harry Styles but no one knows if it actually happened because he denied the relationship on live television, but then again all his tweets over the past two days have been about having your heartbroken. I walked into my first class. I noticed a couple kids looking at me.. No, none of you know who I am. Stop starring at me. I’m new.

“Ahh you must be the new student. I’m Mr. Bates.” My teacher smiled.

“Yup, I’m the new student.” I nodded. I don’t like being new. I don’t like kids looking at me weird. I don’t like school.

“Class, this is our new student Julia Moretti! Please make her feel welcome at our school.” He smiled and I headed to the only open seat in the back. Of course it was a desk surrounded by a couple girls who obviously thought they were all that. Mr. Bates started teaching and I tried as hard as I could to pay attention. I kept hearing the girls whisper things back and forth.

“You ask her.”

“No you ask her.” That went on for about five minutes before the bleached blonde one turned around and looked at me.

“You look really familiar.” She said with a smile.

“I do?” I questioned. Yup, they recognized me.

“I can’t figure out from where but you do in  fact look a lot like someone I’ve seen before.” She said still puzzled by who I was.

“Oh ok.” I tried to refocus on Mr. Bates, but they weren’t about to let that happen in this life.

“I’m Bethany.” The blonde girl said smiling at me. “This is Whitney.” She pointed to a girl with chocolate brown hair and olive colored skin. “And this is Ashley.” She said pointing to the other girl with dirty blonde hair. “You should hang out with us. You’d fit in well.” She said with a smile.

“Yeah ok.” I mean I needed friends so this will work for now.

They were in some of my other classes too so I wasn’t going to be alone the whole school day. At lunch, I sat with them. I mean I was supposed to treat this like it was normal but I was pretty sure these were the popular mean girls in the school that I used to hate back at my old school.

“What are you looking at?’ Whitney asked me during lunch while I was starring at my phone.

“Oh nothing, just a text from my ex.” I shook it off like it was no big deal.

“Ex? Omg what happened?” Whitney exclaimed. Ew, did she just say omg?

“He wasn’t uhmm allowed to date me.” I was able to make it sound like it was his parents idea.

“Why did his parents not like you?” Bethany asked.

“Something like that.” My phone went off again.
