It was 4am and Seokjin couldn't sleep

It was 4am and Seokjin couldn't sleep. He had been tossing and turning, wondering why he wasn't good enough and trying to piece everything together. He couldn't. Every time he tried to calm himself down and go to sleep, his mind would go on this wild adventure of all the possible things he had done to drive Namjoon to cheat.

It wasn't long before Seokjin heard pacing. Probably Hoseok in the room above, unable to sleep from the mouse again. That reminded him, when he went to Daegu tomorrow, he should ask his father to send down a pest control specialist. It was rather vulgar that they were living with rodents. However right now, Seokjin was too emotionally drained to even think about doing anything for the house.

How would he continue to live under the same roof as the two boys? Should he kick them out? He couldn't, since everyone had money put into the house. Maybe the two would gain some common sense and leave for a while. Seokjin's mind was running a mile a minute thinking about everything. Were himself and Namjoon broken up now? Were Namjoon and Jungkook together? Was their relationship a lie?

Seokjin's thoughts abruptly stopped when he heard footsteps along the hallway. He quickly dived under the blankets, pretending to be asleep. He couldn't face another person trying to talk to him. His brother had been more than enough.

The footsteps stopped, and Seokjin was confused. Had the person stopped outside his room? Had they walked straight past? It made no sense, since the direction of the footsteps came from near the staircase, and the only room down the corridor beside Seokjin's was Jungkook's, who was probably fast asleep. Lucky him.

Seokjin continued to pretend to sleep, in case whoever it was was just being very quiet, but after three minutes with no sound at all Seokjin popped his head out of the blanket, needing fresh air. His bedroom door was completely closed, and there were no downstairs lights on (he would have seen it through the bottom of his door), so whoever it was was probably gone back to bed.

He decided to go on his phone briefly, hopefully to get his mind off of everything. When that didn't work, and after a good ten minutes of frustratedly running his hand through his hair and sighing, the ravenette came to the conclusion that he was sad and cold, since he still had his summer sheets on his bed. He could only currently fix one of those problems, so he turned his phone flashlight on and aimed it towards the floor to see if he had thrown a hoodie there recently.

When the floor by his bed had nothing, he shone the flashlight towards his closet to see if any were hanging on the handles. He didn't see a hoodie.

What he did see though, was a figure standing in the corner of his room.

"Jesus Christ." Seokjin said, backing into the headboard of his bed. The figure remained still.

Seokjin considered running, but since he would have to run towards the figure to leave his room, he thought it'd be best to see if physics was on his side that day and he could magically move through the wall. So he pressed further against the headboard.

"Namjoon? Are you here to say sorry?" Seokjin guessed that was who the figure was. His phone's flashlight wasn't strong enough to reveal the features of the figure, just the outline the silhouette.

"N-Namjoon?" Seokjin stuttered out, getting increasingly terrified now.

He hoped this was just one of the boys trying to scare him, but he himself knew deep down that no one would try messing with him at four in the damn morning.

The figure moved slowly, taking the tiniest, and most hesitant steps towards Seokjin. Seokjin was almost too afraid to shine his flashlight on the face of the figure, but he did anyways.

He was met with an eery mask, one that looked like a baby's face. It was a shiny plastic, so the flashlight only shone back in his face when he looked at it.

"What do you want?" Seokjin was terrified, who wouldn't be?

The figure remained unrealistically silent, keeping full composure and not even flinching. Seokjin began to slowly dial the police's number as discreetly as he could, but within seconds the phone flew out of his hands, smacked away by the figure. shit.

"H-" Seokjin's attempt at yelling out was cut off by a hand shooting out towards his face, covering his mouth while the figure's other arm pulled out towards the ravenette's elbow.

Within seconds, the masked figure had Seokjin in a choke hold, the ravenette's airways closing in slightly. The boy gasped for air, pulling at the arm which was wrapped around him as he tried to scream through the hand. It was no use, he couldn't be heard. And if he was, everyone would assume he was crying into his pillow.

"Shhh. Don't make this any harder than it has to be." The figure whispered, and for a brief moment Seokjin froze.

He knew exactly who owned that voice.

"Plea-" Seokjin's muffle voice was cut off as a knife entered his abdomen, replaced by the quiet screams of pain that no one else could hear.

Tears rolled down the boy's face as he realised that this was it. The end of his life. This person had won.

Seokjin dropped to the ground as the knife was pierced into his chest. With heartbreak and betrayal in his mind, he grew quiet and still, until eventually he was no more than a lifeless corpse on the ground.

The figure dropped the knife, walking over to the boy's desk which held many photographs. He picked up one of Seokjin and himself.

He chuckled.

"Oh, brother, you were so blind. Maybe now that I've taken away your suffering, you'll give me the love I deserve. Maybe if you hadn't been so comforting towards invisible mice and crashed cars, you would have lived."

end.
