Seokjin was becoming increasingly worried these days. For no particular reason, things felt off. He was supposed to travel down to Daegu to see his father on Monday, where he would sort out business plans and such before returning on Friday. However, instead of being excited to see his father like he usually is, he's more so worried to leave home. Maybe it was the atmosphere in the house, but lately everything just seemed to be off. Like the world had tilted half a centimetre on its axis.
Namjoon walked through the door that morning, looking a mess and quite frankly, rather tired.
"Hey, you alright?" Namjoon asked, coming in and kissing the elder on the cheek, which managed to snap him back to reality.
"Huh? Yeah, just thinking." Seokjin replied.
"About?"
"I dunno, things are feeling a bit.. off lately." Seokjin said, to which Namjoon visibly stiffened.
However, this was unnoticed by Seokjin who was pouring himself a glass of milk from the fridge.
"How so?" Namjoon asked.
"Dunno. Maybe it's just me stressing about unnecessary stuff, like the shares and the car. Speaking of, have you seen Jungkook?" Seokjin asked.
"Didn't he go out last night to that party?" Namjoon questioned.
"Yeah, has he not been back since?" Seokjin asked.
"Not that I know of. I wasn't here last night, I was babysitting again and fell asleep on the sofa at my parents'." The boy explained.
"Oh, well I don't remember hearing him come in, so he must've stayed out. You know I wish he'd stop avoiding me and just confess about the car, it's getting annoying." Seokjin sighed.
As if on que, the front door opened, Jungkook quickly walking by as Jimin entered the kitchen with a yawn.
"Jungkook!" Seokjin yelled after him, making the youngest stop in his tracks. "Come to the kitchen for a sec."
Jungkook slowly entered the kitchen, seeing Namjoon and Seokjin standing by one another. "what's up?" He asked.
"Look, I know for the sake of your pride you won't say anything about the car, but you didn't even give me a heads up about it and we all know you're the onl-"
"This car again? What the hell happened to it that everyone in the house is talking about it? Did it explode or some shit? 'Cause it looked fine when I saw it in the garage." Jungkook sighed.
"Someone hit the car into something and the bumper and front are a bit messed up." Seokjin reminded him.
"Oh, that's why everyone's going crazy? Who did it?" Jungkook asked.
Seokjin sighed, rubbing a hand over his face, and that's when it dawned on Jungkook.
"Oh, you think I did it?" Jungkook raised an eyebrow, looking at Seokjin and Namjoon, briefly glancing to a tired looking Jimin biting into an apple, and then back at the other two. "Jin I haven't driven the car since the lesson."
"I know, that's when it got messed up." Seokjin sighed.
"I passed my test the day after, how could I have done that if I was a careless enough driver to crash the car?" Jungkook questioned.
"I don't know? Accidents happen."
"Well this wasn't my accident."
"Jungkook, it only makes sense that it was you. Just admit to it so I can go get the damn thing fixed-"
"Sorry but it wasn't me."
"Jungko-"
"Don't do that, don't tell me it's okay if I did because honestly, I did not crash it."
"Jungkook just-" Seokjin raised his voice.
"Guys." Jimin suddenly spoke up, looking at the quarreling friends. "Jungkook didn't crash the car, okay? It was me."
Seokjin blinked at the boy as if he had just been told that elephants had three ears.
"Why didn't you say something?" Seokjin asked. "You said it wasn't you."
"I know. I was only after getting home, and I saw the car parked in the garage. I was bored so decided to take it out for a spin at like six, and got home by like half past. On my way back I knocked into a lamp post because I was trying to put out my cigarette. I know you don't like smoking in the car and I was too ashamed to tell you that I had started smoking again." Jimin's head was low, he looked genuinely sorry.
"It's okay, Jimin. I just wanted someone to confess. If you had told me all of this earlier it would save a lot of hassle. Yes I hate smoking, and you better not do it in my car again, but I understand. I'll go get the car fixed tomorrow." Seokjin smiled, turning to Jungkook. "Sorry I accused you."
"It's fine." Jungkook waved it off, walking to the breakfast bar.
Seokjin and Namjoon left, going off to wherever in the house, and were exchanged for a tired Taehyung walking in, rubbing his eyes.
"Who was yelling so early?" The boy asked as he walked over to the counter to make tea.
"I 'fessed to crashing the car." Jimin said.
"Oh shit, did Jin give out?" Taehyung asked.
"Surprisingly, no. He didn't even care that I was smoking in the car." Jimin shrugged.
"You're smoking again?" Taehyung asked.
"Only every now and then. But I'm surprised Jin didn't bite my head off for it."
"Seriously. If that were me, I'd never be allowed in the car again." Taehyung laughed. "Anyways, do you know if Hobi's up yet? I was supposed to print my essay a while ago but I keep forgetting."
"I don't think he'll be up until later. He was up half the night because he can hear the stupid mouse scratching in the walls. I only know he was up half the night because he came into mine to try and sleep. He's still passed out." Jimin said.
"Oh, okay. Thanks anyways." Taehyung said, bringing his tea and leaving the kitchen.
Jimin sighed, still exhausted from Hoseok waking him up and giving him an indecent sleep last night, and decided to take a nap on the couch.
