The next morning, Drayton and I sneak back into his house before ten. We'd had to check out of the hotel at half past nine and we were amused to find we weren't the only couple from school checking out at reception.
I'm not going to lie, I am walking weird. My hair is an absolute mess. My make up is beyond saving and I could use a coffee and some food.
"Dray, I should go home."
He turns with one foot on the bottom step of the staircase. Damn he looks cute. His hair stands in all different directions and his dress shirt has the top two buttons undone. We look like we went on a bender last night when in actual fact we just had some intense and insane sex.
"Don't go?"
"I need to shower and get some fresh clothes on."
"Shower here?"
"Fresh clothes?"
"Wear mine!" He reaches out and snatches my hand, pulling me up the stairs behind him. Before we make it inside his bedroom, Grayson's door swings open from the other side of the staircase and he and Spencer emerge looking a hell of a lot worse than us.
Well, they're in new clothes and look clean, but they look tired and exhausted and Spencer has swollen eyes, the telltale sign that she's been hysterically crying.
"Where did you two disappear to last night?" she asks, both of them circling the staircase so they can stand in front of us. Drayton and I share an amused but guilty look. "Oh of course! Animals! I was having a crisis and you two were screwing!"
"Yeah," Drayton shrugs his shoulders, "there's no chance that we made a baby last night though. No chance!" I catch the hidden meaning in his light chuckle and gasp, swatting his arm with red cheeks.
"Hey!" Grayson points at us with narrow eyes. "Don't joke about- about, this!" He points at Spencer's stomach and as much as I wish I could keep a straight face, I start to giggle.
"Did you guys figure much out last night?" Drayton asks, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I love how he needs to have his hands on me at all times.
Spence and Gray share a brief but sweet look. His hand reaches out and encases hers. I can see that she has his love and support and no matter what the two of them decide, he'll be there for her.
"We're going to keep it," Spence announces with a smile. "It's a little scary but this baby came from love and I know that we can get through it. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do after high school. This kinda made up my mind for me."
"And I already spoke to Mom," Grayson pipes in. "She said that she'll support us and Spencer is welcome to stay here and-"
"You told Mom?" Drayton interjects with disbelief.
"Yeah." Gray shrugs. She saw us come in last night and demanded to know what was going on. She was kinda upset at first but she came round. Said I had to call my folks and tell them because she certainly didn't want to."
"Dad?" Drayton asks.
"No idea. Haven't seen him. I'd rather not be in the house when he finds out."
"Fair point."
"So when are you going to tell your parents, Spence?" She snaps her head in my direction after being seemingly zoned out during the boys' exchange.
"I dunno," she murmurs. "I should do it as soon as possible I suppose."
"I can come with you?" I offer with sincerity.
"Um," Grayson interrupts before she can either accept or decline my support. "I'd really like to be the one that goes with her." He smiles sheepishly and Spencer looks as though she's about to melt into a puddle of goo. "I just think I should own up, ya know. Your parents might not appreciate it if I cower out while you face them."
