From Jughead:

Listen, Juliet, some things were said. Some things that I didn't mean. You're not a 'one night stand' to me. You'll never be, at least not on my watch. Please, forgive me. And if you do, meet me at Pop's at 7?

I saw the text notification and immediately grabbed my phone. I was mad at him, but there was an urge that wanted to see him.

To Jughead:

Hey... Just meet me at Pop's in ten minutes. We have some things to talk about. get ready.

I sent the text and put my favorite sweater on.

"Mom! I'm going to pop's!" I yelled as I ran down the stairs.

"With who?" She said to me, leaning out of the kitchen.

"Just a friend... I'll be back around 10" I ran out the door, after grabbing the keys to my 1967 yellow Chevy truck.

I arrived at Pop's 4 minutes late. Well, this is great already.

I scanned the restaurant for Jughead and saw him, sitting in his usual booth. How did I not know that? Instead of sitting next to him, like I usually did, I just stood there, like a statue

"Jug...." He looked up

"betty!" He grabbed the small of my back and kissed me while I grabbed his face. After a few seconds, I pulled away and sat down. He sat across from me.

"Betty, listen. What I said-"

"What you said... was wrong, and mean, and I should not being doing this, but I forgive you," I gave him a light smile and then it faded away. Jughead was looking down.

"Jug, what's wrong?" I asked.

"Tomorrow will be a rough day for me. I'm sorry, this is ruining our date..."

"Tomorrow is my mom's birthday, and she died a couple years back. And worst of all, some shit is going on with the serpents and the ghoulies, and it might end up at the trailer park," He was scared.

"Juggy, I'm so sorry," I held his hands. "If there is anything I can do, stay at your house tonight, keep you some company, just ask."

"I guess what would be nice," He said grabbing his wallet.

"Please, Jug, my treat," I pulled twenty dollars out of my pocket and slapped it on the table.

To Alice:

Hey, Mom. It's already gotten pretty late so is it okay if I just spend the night at Veronica's?

From Alice:

Yes, Honey. Just be home in time for the party tomorrow night.

"Okay, Jug, we're all clear!" I grabbed his hand and we walked home.

On our walk home, it was freezing. I shivered a little bit.

"Hey, want my jacket?" We stopped.

"Oh, I couldn't. It's your serpent jacket!" It's not that I wasn't cold, it's that if I saw anyone I knew, they would confront me about it.

He started taking it off, and then put it around my shoulders.

"Thanks."

"Anything, babe." BABE. Jughead Jones just called me babe. I stopped.

"What? What happened?" Jughead looked at me, confused.

I jumped on him and hugged him. I kissed his cheek and he put me down.

Jughead and I made small talk the rest of the walk home. It was nice. I think I am falling in love with this Jones boy.

When we arrived at Jughead's, we just climbed in bed. Both of us were exhausted.

"Good Night, Juliet."

"Good Night, Romeo."

Jughead kissed my forehead, and we drifted off to a deep sleep.
