Jade went to her boyfriend, Richard's house on a Saturday night because she and her dad got in a fight. She doesn't even remember what it was about.
"Hey. What's wrong?" Richard asks as he opens the door to his huge house, that's not nearly as big as Jade's; her's is a cross between a mansion and a castle. She walked in with her head hung low in her designer coat.
Richard has long brown hair that goes to his eyebrows and brushes his ears, his eyes are nearly as vibrant green as an emerald. He had his best friend Hunter over. Hunter has blond hair that naturally flips up in the front and the hazel eyes of mossy wood where the flecks of green dance around the brown.
All the other girls in their school were jealous of her because she had Richard for a boyfriend. She wouldn't be jealous because Richard has quite a temper that's fast to ignite. Any girl who doesn't know how to defend herself or calm him down would be pummeled. Luckily, she can do both.
" I got in a fight with dad. So, I left, and I came here." Jade mumbles.
" I hate your father's guts. It's as though he wanted a son but got a pretty daughter instead. Apparently, he didn't see the fact that you're a girl. He trains you to be a... I don't know. A killer? A soldier? Why? Girls are supposed to be home taking care of the kids." He says raising his voice in anger. She feels slapped by his words.
" So, that's what you think of women? Men's' thin' to procreate, cook, soothe, and care for everyone in the house?" She hisses.
" Yeah, actually. I do." He raises an eyebrow.
" And what about havin' mistresses, Richard?" Jade glares at him.
" Well, honestly. I'm not cheating on you. I-"
" Answer my question." She starts to get offended.
" I think you should come over here and watch some TV, Jade." Hunter calls from the parlor.
She glares at Richard for a second then walks over to the couch. "Truth or dare, Hunter." She blurts. It caught him off guard.
" Um.... Dare." He blinks. Jade sits close enough to Hunter that she hears Richard growl.
" In a few days, ask Richard what he thinks of mistresses and me. Not in that order or on the same day." She whispers in his ear.
"What?! Why..." His brow furrows and Jade shrugs.
"You picked dare. So, you have to do it." Jade motions at him with a smirk.
"Fine." He sighs.
" Jade, Truth or dare." Richard grins.
" You know my answer, so why even ask make it a choice? I haven't picked truth in years, at least not when I'm with anyone but my family." She rolls her eyes.
"I dare you to go to that haunted hotel on the outskirts. And you have to stay there until I say otherwise."
"Oh, you." Jade scowls and runs into his kitchen to pack food. She starts to put candles in the bag but Richard stops her.
"No candles."
"What?! How am I supposed to see?" Her eyes widen as she waits for an explanation.
"I heard eyes adjust to the dark, eventually." Richard smirks.
"Whoop-tee-fuckin'-doo. Someone can use Siri." Jade glares at Richard.
"Don't be bitchy with me. you know what.." He grabs the bag and walks to his garage.
" I wasn't done!"
" I don't care." He rolls his eyes and says this sarcastically.
So , they go to the garage. Hunter leans on the doorway and Jade is on the steps as Richard puts the bag in the mustang. "Well, get in Jade. Hunter, you can come if you want." Richard opens the driver side door and sits inside.
Jade sighs and goes to the passenger side of the back. "Comin' Hunter?" She looks at him with a sad eyed smile.
" Yeah..." He looks at Richard and glares. Slowly he gets in the passenger seat in the front.
