Day 3

Jade wakes up and checks the time on her phone.  It's 8:36 am. She then goes down to the main floor and gets breakfast.

She pours herself a bowl of cereal and eats it slowly. Once she finishes, she goes upstairs to her 2nd floor room and pulls out her phone and plays some games on it like "plants vs zombies", and "stardew valley". Eventually, lunch time rolls around, and Jade decides to charge her phone with her solar powered portable battery. She then proceeds downstairs and sneaks out the window. Since it's broad daylight, she has no fear of the vampires chasing her.

The first thing she does is go home and grab a duffel bag and stuff it with a couple more outfits. And grabs a rotisserie chicken and some tortillas and mayo from home, too. After that, she heads back to the hotel unnoticed by her family.

By the time Jade gets back to the hotel, it's late afternoon, and she gets back in through the window. She beelines for the kitchen in the restaurant and puts the duffel bag on the floor. Jade starts shredding the chicken, and this takes her about 37 minutes due to how tediously she likes her chicken shredded.

Once the chicken is shredded and the bones are discarded, Jade proceeds to make a small chicken wrap, even though Richard should be coming soon.

Daniel comes down into the restaurant and sees Jade. "What have you been up to?" He asks.

"Nothing, just making a snack." Jade responds.

"Watch out for Andrew. I think he plans on killing you." Daniel warns Jade.

"Ha! He can try, but I'm tougher than I look, and then he thinks." Jade shakes her head.

"Are you even human?" Daniel's brow furrows.

"Yes and no. I can't tell you what I am." Jade presses her lips into a tight line.

"Why?" Daniel's brow furrows.

"Because it would cause me to have to into hiding again." Jade says.

"Hmmm... I see." Daniel nods, then notices the shredded chicken and tortillas. "I don't remember you having chicken."

"That's not important." Jade rolls her eyes.

"So about this party..." Daniel trails off.

"It's at the end of my stay here, around dusk." Jade finally divulges some details.

"Where?" Daniel continues prying for the details.

"Nunya." Jade clams up.

"Oh, come on..." Daniel smiles, trying to seduce Jade into telling him.

"No!" She lightly pushes him away.

Daniel gives up  and goes to the ballroom. Jade takes her duffel bag and unpacks it on the 2nd floor. Eventually, 6 pm rolls around, and Jade heads to the main floor. She sees Hunter's dark grey Ford F-150 on the street.

She goes outside and waits on the porch. Hunter walks up to her and double takes.

"Hey.." He says, kind of shocked. It takes him a second to absorb Jade standing in front of him, and then he hugs her. "You're alive! Richard said you were dead. I came to check. I can't wait to tell everyone you're alive! Oh! Here's your food." Hunter hands over a bag of food. Hunter squeezes Jade, and she hisses.

"Ouch.."

"Oh! Sorry. Are you ok?" Hunter stands with his arms on Jade's shoulders. Jade smiles weakly.

"I'm just a little beat up, is all." She guides him to the lawn that's in the sun.

They sit down, and Jade draws marks on the grass around them.  These marks hide them from prying human eyes.

She lets Hunter eat the food he brought, and she dives in and gets more chicken wraps and cake for them to eat. Little to their knowledge, Daniel is watching them from the 1st story window the whole time.

"Hunter, you can't tell anyone I'm still alive." Jade says.

Hunter almost chokes on his cake, and Jade pats his back. "What, why?"

"Because. I'll handle everything. Ok?  Meet me tomorrow for lunch?" She asks.

"I still have school." Hunter says, disappointed.

"Ok. Dinner, but be very careful. Nobody sees you come. Park around the corner or something." Jade informs him.

"Ohh-kayyyy." Hunter looks at her sideways.

"Nityj var. Goodbye." Jade says she loves him in her family language and kisses his forehead. Hunter blushes and gets up to leave. Daniel sneaks back into the ballroom.

They go their separate ways, Jade going inside while Hunter drives home. Once inside, Jade goes into the restaurant and sits down at the bar.

"How am I going to deal with this?" She thinks out loud.

She then comes to the conclusion that she will let Hunter decide his own fate. Once she comes to this conclusion, she heads to the second floor and goes to bed.
