~Madeline's POV~

I need you in my life like limelight

Wherever I go I'm taking you

Whenever I call you my lifeline,

I never hang up I depend on you.

"YOU'RE FLYING WITH ME SO I CALL YOU REDEYE!" I scream along to the lyrics.

I was trying to hype myself up before a long, treacherous first day of school. I only knew one person; Colin, the pizza guy. He seemed like a fuckboy, but he is the only person I've met so far.

As I pulled into the parking lot of West Morris Central, I get an uneasy feeling in my stomach. I get out of the car and stare up at the massive red brick building right in front of me. I sigh and look down at my schedule. First period starts at 8:05, and it was 8:02 right now. I had history first, and I was pretty sure it was all the way towards the back of the building, so I started to speedwalk.

After about a minute, I was completely lost, so I stop on to ask a girl standing by her locker putting on lipgloss, for directions.

"Hey, do you know where Mr. Jimson's history class is?"

She turns around, her long, brown hair nearly whacking me in the face.

"Ummmm, yeah... I'll take you." She said, eyeballing her friend.

There was something a little off about her, but I wasn't going to pass up help.

"Hey, Hannah!" A girl with brown hair yelled. She ran towards us with her blonde friend in behind her.

"Who's this?" The blonde asked.

"Oh, I'm Madeline." I smiled

"I was just taking her to Mr. Jimson's class." Hannah said really politely.

"We will take her, thanks Hannah." The brunette said while she was lightly pulling my arm.

Once we were reasonably far from Hannah, the blonde spoke up:

"So, I'm Alissa, and that's Caroline." She said pointing at herself and then the brunette.

"Ok, cool." I replied.

"Sorry for barging in like that but-"

"You DO NOT want to get involved with Hannah." Alissa interrupts Caroline.

"Yeah, unless you want all the girls at West Morris hate you." Caroline states.

"And all the guys catcalling you at every corner."
