chapter 18

~Madeline's POV~

I wake up the next morning feeling like a train wreck. 

I look down and notice I still have Graysons hoodie on. I rip it off in disgust, but regret it because of the cold air tingling my senses immediately after.

While I get ready for school, I can't help but think of the way Grayson reacted when I mentioned honesty. Colin came to my window last night as usual, we talked for awhile, everything was fine. Grayson probably is just thinking of Colin's past relationships. I really think I've changed him.

I pulled up the school at 8:00, ignoring the thoughts about yesterday still jumbled in my head. I saw Grayson's apology text late last night and I told him it's fine. We both overreacted. I mean, we are still friends, it'll just be awkward for awhile. I think I have minor feelings for him, but they are nothing compared to what I feel for Colin. Right?

I go through history pretty normal, just not talking to the twins as much as usual.

It pains me not to talk to them, but I know that at any second, one of us could explode.

I went through some more more classes and then it came to English. I have English class with Colin and a bunch of freshmen. I needed another English credit so I just took the easiest one. I love english cause the teacher usually leaves and leaves us to 'work', but me and Colin just end up doing whatever.

"Hey, babe." Colin smiles, kissing me on the cheek.

"Hey." I grin, leaning into him and ignoring the guilty feeling brewing in my stomach.

"I can only stay here for 10 minutes. I have to talk to some coaches about me taking extra basketball lessons before the season starts." He sighs, sitting down in a seat.

"Okay. I guess I'll just do work for once."

"Sorry, it's important." He hugs me.

"No, it's cool. I'm excited for you. Oh, and I have to tell you something important tonight."

After English is over, I walk alone to lunch. I found Caroline and Alissa, but I still haven't seen Colin or the twins. After about 15 minutes of lunch, I decide to go look for them. I head to the gym where all the coaches' offices are, in hopes of running into Colin somewhere.

Caroline and Alissa stayed in the cafeteria because they had homework to finish, so I go alone. 

I walk into the gym to see a few people eating lunch alone, and some kids playing basketball. I go towards the doors that lead to the offices. I peek through the doors, but see nothing. I turn around and am about to leave when I heard voices.

I can't make out what these voices are saying, but I walk towards where they are coming from.

There are people talking are under the bleachers, wtf?
