Here I am, for 17 years of my life; I, an adolescent is being dragged by a Basset hound named Tobias. If this is how's my life has been leading up to this moment, then I'd rather stay home and do nothing.
Oh, right.. I'm sort of broke and the only reason why people do this is because nothing is free. That is why we need COMMUNISM.Just kidding. It'll be the exact opposite if we did become a communist state.
If I'm bored enough to make a joke, then something is definitely, definitely wrong with me.I mean, look what happened to Russia right now, being separated into two governments with the CIS region and the now experimental Communist state. I'm surprised that they found the missing Tsar; if I were to put it, 'allegedly found'.
The dog has been dragging me from the subdivision to one of the artificial islands.
The butler said something about me walking him in the park or just in the subdivision, but I somehow ended up in ISLAND 3; a tourist centered artificial island that the local government made as a way to reclaim lost land from the sea.The place was far different from what I usually see in the Capital since the islands were made just recently. The buildings overall looked futuristic in a way that looks very lean and curvy from all the sharp edges usually found in Metropolitan states.
Though, there are still buildings that are under construction. It is still a developing project after all.
It was open to the public just 12 months back and the only working facilities during then were newly built hospitals with state of the art technologies that came from various foreign countries. The policing here are left to the DFPD, and they even have their own station here. The park where I'm now in was still being developed. Trees were still being planted, and some fountain with the statue of Marcos is still being carved by a single person. Probably the only guy as of the moment.
You can see construction going on around the island, especially when they're completely open about it.
It must be some way of showing the public that they're working for the development of this City.
The dog was rather composed despite all the noise of the construction.
This dog is definitely raised by the higher-class.
*pant*...
I think the heat is finally getting to me. Even though my hood was already up, the sun's heat still penetrated through my clothing; and they said that the fabric of this hood is resistant to heat. But I guess its not completely resisting if your entire body is heating up.
Within the park, I found a bench in which the dog calmly followed me.
This time I was the one dragging him.
He even complied without any resistance like dogs usually do when the owner tries to drag the dog away from a fire hydrant.
I guess he noticed how exhausted I was.
But for some reason, when I looked at the dog who was incidentally looking at me back; he looks like he's telling me:
"How weak are you?"
'(Oh fuck off dog, you know nothing about a shut-in's stamina.)'
I almost blurted that out as I finally rested.
My arms sprawled on the bench, I accidentally let go of the leash.
I immediately reacted and looked for the leash faster than my blood could even settle in my brain, so when I turned my head, I almost blacked out.
'Phew...'
I was relieved when the dog was still next to me. He was even on the bench just staring at me like some pathetic owner.
Is he mocking me now?
That butler did say that this dog liked me.
So without any hesitation I placed my hand wearily on the dog's head and started caressing the dog.
Ah... If only some gorgeous woman would do the same to me.
The dog even started licking on my face.
With this sweat, it's definitely not helping.
Just as I fantasized that (never happening) scenario, Lyra came into my mind.
That paranoid of a woman.
Because of her choke hold from yesterday, I'm feeling a bit of a stiff neck here. Its completely hard for me to turn my head in 90'. I could just barely hide the pain by just cringing a little.
If what that woman said was true, then Rachel is still alive and is somewhere in this capital, just barely living.
If my memory serves me right, Rachel made those ads to find a successor for her personality. She probably knew that this was going to happen to her; although in a way that prevents her from doing her detective work indefinitely.
I'm thinking more of a big-sister type and Rachel should fit the description, oh right, she's a milf now.
I couldn't help but got lost in thought again while I passively watched that dog walking around that somehow wrapped the leash around his neck, making it easier for him to maneuver.
She said that I'm a candidate, therefore, Lyra must be still hold up in that room waiting for that 'guy' to show up. It was free after all.
If it were me..............................................................................................
Is this going to be the start of my adventure that I hoped long ago?
Ultimately, the reason why I chose the path of Criminology is to be in situations where I could become free.
Sigh.... reminiscing about my childhood life will definitely make me cringe.
What was I suppose to do again?
Ahhhh, right!!
I hurriedly looked around to see where the dog was...
Uh-oh................
He's not here!!!!
Where is he?
WHERE!!
That dog that is no longer than my knee is gone!
I looked around the bench again in urgency to see if I just missed him and is actually hiding under the bench.
It was already noon, so I imagined that a dog in a high-class society would actually find food for himself. But how will he pay the expenses? And how will I eat something if everything in this island is too damn expensive!?
I finally realized that I was already running around the park.
I asked some tourist who were taking some pictures on the finished buildings about the whereabouts of a dog.
"Have you seen a dog in this size came pass here?" I asked a high school girl who was still wearing her uniform despite being today a weekend.
"Uhm... No, sorry." She said meekly as she tried turning away.
What? Am I that sweaty for you to look at?
My pay is in the line here.
I swiftly changed my target; outside of the park where vendors are usually legal to sell their questionable services.
But that's beside the point.
If there's food, there's that dog.
I hope.
"Damn, this island is still under construction, if that dog accidentally gets run by a car, or get crushed by a steel beam, then I'm fucked."
Much to my disgust, if worse comes to worse, I'll just buy them a new dog and use that brainwashing technology that the USSR developed.
After running around the outskirts of the park, I finally caught glimpse of that dog.
I chased him and found that dog hunting some small animal.
He's apparently chasing a cat. Typical for a dog, but from a dog raised by a higher-class?
And here I thought that dog is like the boss of me.
Sigh, if you're a dog, you're still in the mercy of your desire to chase cats.
Hmmm... now that I noticed it, that cat is not from around here.
Out of curiosity I took a picture using my smart phone and asked the universal search engine Gugle.
With the wifi in this Island, the search engine gave me a result immediately.
'(A Russian Blue... hmmm.. Someone must have lost their cat here. And wait..)'
The function of the Gugle search also has another link that transferred the web page to the Bounty System.
Class-S
Lost Cat.
"The cat I brought with me was lost. If someone could find it for me, I'll reward you with cash. Just contact me after you have found the cat. We can discuss the venue once the request is done."
And that's it.
Along with that picture that resembles that cat, there were no other information.
The cat in this picture was wearing a red collar with a black dog tags around its neck. The Russian blue that is being chased by this discount blood hound is that cat!
HEY WAIT!!!
After I finished my accidental research I looked back at those two, and again!
THEY"RE GONE!!
It took me a few second to notice something odd about that request.
Wait a minute.... why is this in the Class-S request?
