Memory Lost

"Hey guys." I greeted Lydia and Scott as I walked up to the table, placing my backpack on top,

"Jaylen! You came!" Lydia exclaimed,

"Yeah, I can't miss anymore days if I want to be a senior next year so here I am." I looked at Scott, seeing his face stuffed in a book,

"Hi, Scott." I said to him,

"Hi Jaylen.." he trailed off, reading the pages, I looked at Lydia who shrugged.

"Where's Malia?" I asked,

"She's taking her senior picture." Lydia pointed behind me, I turned around to see her smiling into the camera; Until Stiles ruined her picture over and over again.

"Hey! The deputy searched the car, no slugs, no exit hole." Stiles began as he and Malia walked over to us, Malia sat up on the table as Stiles stood in front of us,

"And the address Alex gave my dad, it's an abandoned house!" He finished, none of us did or said anything,

"Come on! Missing parents, suspicious guy on horseback, magic bullet. Who's coming with?" He asked us,

"I've got to retake my photos"

"I can't miss anymore classes."

"I don't care." Lydia, Scott and Malia answered. Stiles rolled his eyes at his friends before looking at me,

"Jay? You want to go with me?"

"I'm not interested." I said and took a seat next to Scott, he grunted,

"Scott! I missed 38 classes last semester and Lydia's mom is the only reason I'm still in school."

"I can go after school." Scott reassured Stiles,

"You know what? Forget it, I'll take Liam." Stiles looked out at the quad and moaned, we all turned to see Liam and Hayden making out at a bench.

"Yeah, I'm not taking Liam." Stiles corrected, I laughed at him,

"Hey, Can I get a candid?" Sydney asked as she walked over to us with a camera,

"Uh, yeah sure." Stiles said and sat in between Scott and Lydia, I stood up and walked away from the table,

"Jaylen, sit back down." Sydney ordered, I shook my head,

"No, I'm good."

"They're leaving off to college soon, don't you want a picture with them before they leave?" She asked me, I looked at my friends and brother, Lydia flashed me a smile. I smiled and rolled my eyes before sitting back down next to Scott,

"Everyone smile!" Sydney exclaimed, I smiled as the camera flashed, Lydia got up and ran over to Sydney,

"Let me see.." Sydney showed Lydia, who smiled,

"Can I get five copies?" Lydia asked Sydney, Sydney nodded and worked something on the Polaroid camera before 5 pictures came out.

Lydia thanked her and grabbed the photos, handing one to all of us,

"Here, now we all have a copy" I looked at the picture and smiled at it.

Lydia, Scott, Malia, Liam, Hayden, Mason, Corey, and I had to come back to the school at night, everybody at school did but for god knows what, something about a body? I'm not sure.

We had been here for at least an hour and I spent that hour sitting outside, not feeling like going inside. I had my phone in my hand, I was staring at Theo's contact. I sighed and placed it in my pocket, I stood up and took a look around, feeling confused. I shook it off and opened the doors to the school and walked inside.

I spotted Corey, Mason, Liam and Hayden at the end of the hall, a boy with a red plaid shirt talked to them, I didn't recognize him, maybe it was a new student.

I stopped as I watched him run to my dad and hug him, I watched as my dad placed his hand on the boys shoulder. The boy ran away, he must've been scared. I walked over to Liam,

"Hey, who was that?" I asked them, they shrugged,

"We've never seen him before." Hayden answered me,

"Have you seen Scott?" I asked,

"Uh, I think I saw him going into the library." Mason answered,

"Thank you, see you later." I said to them and walked down the hall, turning to my left, into the empty hallway. I stopped at my locker, I opened my locker and looked at the picture;

My eyebrows furrowed together in bewilderment as I stared at the huge gap between Scott and Lydia. I grabbed the picture and closed my locker, putting the picture into my back pocket.

I continued down the hall way, heading to the library. I stopped as a wave of bewilderment hit me. I took in a breath, calming my nerves.

I looked around, confused; feeling as if I've forgotten something.
